I woke up around 4:55 in morning and waited for the alarm to go off at 5. I jumped off the bed and went into the bathroom to get done with my morning routine.
I walked into the kitchen and got ready to start preparing the breakfast. I opened the fridge and took out the bread and a couple of eggs as I remember how Jenny mentioned that she was getting bored of eating cereals with milk for breakfast and wanted to have a change of taste.
I put the bread slices into the toaster before I poured a little bit of oil on the frying pan to heat up. I cracked one of the eggs and started making an omelette as I let out a chuckle at the memories of being scolded by Aunt Meg for turning omelettes into scrambled eggs when I was first learning cooking from her.
Being only a year younger than my dad, Aunt Meg was pretty much like a second dad for me. Both of them were such perfectionists that grandma always complained about how they won't go easy on her despite her old age.
I sighed as I finished putting the food on the table and started preparing myself mentally to go and wake Jenny up to get ready for school. This was the hardest part of the morning because it was almost impossible to fight the desire to just let her sleep peacefully with her cute face all relaxed and the house being all peaceful without her jumping all around.
I moved the curtains to let the sunlight enter the room and walked towards the bed with a heavy heart. I pulled the blanket away from her and said,
“Get up, I made something different for the breakfast today. And it's Thursday, remember you have a weekly test today? You should review the chapters before dad drops you at school.”
She turned her back towards me, letting out a sleepy moan and just tried to go back to sleep. I sat down beside her and let out a sigh before giving her a taste of my special attack, the merciless tickle attack. She roared with laughter and made it clear to the world that the night was over.
