The sun's boiling hot rays flood the streets of Ibia as people rush through the busy streets, minding their own business and simply wanting to get back home as fast as possible. Rather interesting to watch from a certain view. Bunnie, an Arcanist who just recently started training her magic abilities, flows along with the stream of people. She heard that the infamous, and quite possibly insane, Deranged Doomsayer has moved to the Handuk's Oracle along with his Mare-Spiders, a place that's to the East of Ibia and was once owned by the Seers. The tower is now inhabited by possibly hundreds or even thousands of Mare-Spiders, all owned by the Doomsayer. He even has a bounty on him, according to someone who had informed her about that. Bunnie quickly regains her focus and continues making her way to the Eastern Gate of Ibia. She soon spots a bounty board and manages to squeeze herself out of the busy road. Bunnie stops before the board, giving the posters a quick glance over. One poster, in particular, catches her eye; it's a poster with information on the Deranged Doomsayer.
"Deranged Doomsayer wanted DEAD, bring any evidence to the back of the Resuam Mansion.", the text on the poster reads. It is signed by Baron McSevoy.
"This should be easy! I just need to find where the mansion is..", she thinks to herself, moving away from the board and scanning the streets.
Bunnie approaches someone, racking up her nerves as she tries her best to calm her social anxiety tendencies. She taps the person's shoulders sheepishly, murmuring, "Excuse me, do you know where the Resuam Mansion is?"
He quickly turns around. "Oh- Uh... The Resuam Mansion is by the Eastern Gate," he replies with a smile, "it's of a decent size. You can't miss it."
"Thank you!", she says, giving him a quick bow before swiftly leaving for the Eastern Gates.
She speeds up as she walks towards the gate, getting herself all excited. Eventually, she made her way to the Eastern Gate. Her legs begin to ache from exhaustion due to all the walking and navigating around the maze-like streets. Noticing that it was getting dark, Bunnie turns to the clock on the Ibian Palace's tower. It's 7 PM at the moment. She releases a small sigh and lookes around for some sort of hotel advertisement posters. After a few seconds of looking around, she manages to find some posters, poorly pinned onto a random wall. Bunnie frantically searches her wallet, only to find out that she only has enough money for one night at a den. Well... It's the only option left. She traverses in the direction that the poster indicated, and enters the den ahead of her. The chatters of a busy den welcome her. The warmth and the cozy yellow lights emitting from the torches and the furnace consumes the space around her. Not bad for a cheap den, eh?
She walks up to the bartender. "Hi! Can I get a room here?" she inquires.
"Sure, of course. 50 Karapas." Bunnie pulls out the money as he reaches for a key under the counter. They exchange the items quickly. "Enjoy your night," he nods, smiling.
"Thank you!", she smiles back and gives him a nod, making her way upstairs.
She checks the number on her key while she walks upstairs. Luckily, her room's right on the first floor. She unlocks the door to her room... It's just a small room, enough to fit a bed, an end table and a wardrobe, as well as a dresser.
"Welp, just good enough for one night.", she whispers to herself while she glances around the room.
Bunnie perches herself down on the end of her bed and checks her backpack. She remembers the scroll that she has, but she hasn't read it yet. Bunnie reaches for the scroll in her backpack and rolls it out. The scroll contains multiple phrases, which look more like scribbles against the rough parchment. The statements are written in Latin and some English. The first sentence catches her eye, as it's written in rather large handwriting. "IGNIS EX NIHILO", the big text reads. Under the text, there is some sort of translation: "Fire from Nothing". The name is quite self-explanatory, you all probably know what it does by now. She places the scroll and the backpack aside, considering that she has finished reading, and called it a day. Bunnie wraps the warm blankets around her. The warmth surrounding her body slowly brings her into a deep sleep until she is awoken by a distant roar. She leaps out of bed, looking outside from the window, but her view is obstructed by a few tropical trees. Moreover, it's pitch black out there - she can't make up anything aside from the nearby road she just came here from. She shrugs it off and goes back to her bed. Once again, she drifts off to sleep, being surrounded by the warmth of the blankets.
