Shay's POV

I sat in my car sitting in front of the huge facility I will be working in and of course, I am freaking out because it's my first day of work. I am nervous, excited, and feel sick to my stomach, but I gotta make this money and put that nervousness away. My mind is going crazy and my anxiety is starting to fill. I take a deep breath through my nose and exhale through my mouth. I clear my throat and get ready to recite how I will greet my class full of one hundred or so students.

"Okay, you got this, just a nice and simple introduction. My name is Shay Jones and I will be your professor who will give you a great insight on economics and its excellence."

"sounds good to me" I heard a deep voice coming from the side of my car.

"SHIT! damn you scared the hell out of me" I turn towards the male specimen who looked to be a foot taller than my short ass. I looked up at his face from my car window and saw that he had a clean-shaven face and pearly whites since he was smiling. He had dark short wavy hair that looked soft to the touch an-

"Done staring?" he asked in a deep voice cutting my inner monologue off.

"yes, now if you excuse me I have a class to get to," I said while grabbing my bag and opening my car door. The guy stepped back giving me room to get out. He looked at me analyzing from head to toe slightly biting his bottom lip.

"Done staring?" I mocked his words.

"No, so you're the new professor I assume?"

"Yes, and I'm assuming you're also a professor?"

"How do you know I'm not a student?"

"Well you're here extra early and the very first class starts in an hour so I'm guessing you're here to get ready to teach. Am I wrong?"

"Yes, I'm a student here believe it or not, do I look old or something?"

"No you don't look old or anything I just thought you would be a teacher is all."

"So I look good?" He said with a knowing smirk.

"What's your name?" I ignored his question seeing how he was looking at me with his brooding eyes.

"Lucas" he replied and held out his hand for me to shake.

"Ms. Jones" I took his hand and gave it a quick shake ignoring the slight butterflies in my stomach. "Now if you'll excuse me I have a class to get to," I said as I let go of his hand.

"Yes ma'am, see ya Ms. Jones," he said as I continued towards the entrance of the campus.

I enter the building to Pristine University and head straight for my room which surprisingly didn't take long to find. I enter my now empty room looking around at all of the seats that will soon be filled with eyes of many students. I sat my bag down on my desk and headed towards my private bathroom towards the back of the room in the far corner.

I take a look in the mirror evaluating if this was the right outfit choice. I'm wearing a simple black pencil skirt with an orange blouse that pairs nicely with my dark skin and gold accessories. For the shoes, I chose my black Santoni heels. I have my locs in an updo with a couple of strands hanging out. "I should've gotten a retwist well before class started," I thought to myself. I take a look at my watch and see I have 20 minutes left before I start my lecture.

I walk out of the bathroom and pause when I see someone, a guy sitting in the front row with their laptop open. He's sitting on his phone scrolling through social media. I make my way towards the front with just the sound of my heels clicking on the floor making an echo in the large room.
