"Sam you do not need to go after him, we just need the information which we have so get back here now" Maria said over the comm.

"No way, I'm going to make sure he pays for what he did to you Hill" Sam said as he dropped into the building looking for Judge.

"Sam I'm fine, just get back here, please" she begged over the intercom.

Sam walked through the building shooting anyone that tried to block his path.

"Sam pl-" she started before Sam disconnected his comm.

"Aha come back for round two" Judge said walking around the corner.

Sam snarled, "Oh I wouldn't leave without at least another round that either ends with you six feet under or behind bars" he said, his voice dripping with venom.

"Oh I knew she was your soft spot, that's why I recommended her to Fury to go on this mission" Judge said looking at Sam while circling him.

"I trusted you, so did Fury and Maria and you go and pull this shit?!" Sam said fiddling with the holster strap on his gun.

"Well that's the thing Wilson, I was always pulling this shit. I pulled the strings so that she would come on the mission, I pulled strings so that everyone at SHIELD wouldn't suspect a thing and, you'll like this one, I even pulled the strings to take off Hill's suit last night while you were too busy with Mal. I pulled those strings too" he said all with a big smirk on his face.

Sam's rage boiled over as soon as he mentioned Maria and he waited for him to finish and then he ran at him engaging his wings and throwing him up against the wall.

"You will never lay a hand on her again, you hear me?!" he yelled at him while throwing punches and blocking his feeble attempts to fight Sam.

Judge smirked.

"Well then wouldn't she like to know about Mal then?" he asked Sam.

Sam looked at him questioningly.

"What do you mean" he asked getting redwing armed.

"Agent Mal? Didn't you see her at the bar?" Judge asked Sam.

Sam got the alert that said Redwing was armed and ready to fire at Judge, so he thought he would keep him distracted a little while longer.

"Yes I did. She tried to buy me a drink but I said no, wait that was you who put her up to that?" Sam said slowly circling Judge who was on the floor.

Judge rolled his eyes.

"So you didn't...you know, with her?" he said.

Sam laughed. "The fact that you even thought I would is really funny, honestly."

Sam stopped laughing and his eyes narrowed.

"What did you tell Hill, Judge?"

Judge laughed, still on the floor.

"What do you think I told her right before I knocked her out, I told her that you with Mal."

Sam gritted his teeth.

"That is one battle you're going to loose Judge, I'd never, ever do that to her" he said.

"Unfortunately, we will both be too dead to fight another battle for her" Judge said clicking a button.

Sam got the alert that there were hidden bombs in the floors which would go off in about 30 seconds. He re-connected his comm.

"Hill?! Can you hear me?" he asked through his earpiece.

He grabbed Judge by the shoulders and shook him, why did you do all of this Judge?" he asked as Judge took out a vial of liquid and drained it.

"Because you are a threat, cut off one head and two more will take its place" he said as he lost consciousness.

"Sam, there's bombs in the floorboards, you have to get out of there now!" Maria yelled over the comm.

"I'm going now. Don't worry, I'll get out of her-" he started to say but after that, all Maria heard was static.

"Sam?"

"Sam, can you hear me?"

Tears started pooling at the edge of her eyes but she held them in. Nobody could ever see her like this.

Natasha walked in.

"Maria, where's Sam?" she asked looking at her friend.

She turned around and faced her friend.

"Judge took me hostage and was getting away so he went back to get him because he was so angry about what had happened with me. There was bombs in the floorboards and he set them off. Communication was cut off, so I have no idea" she said letting one tear out of her eye.

She made her way over to her friend and gave her a hug.

"It's Sam, he's gonna turn up any minute now with his shit-eating grin and say something to make us all laugh" she said squeezing her shoulders before she went to see if they had picked up on any coordinates for Sam.

Maria sat down on the edge of the table, towards the window and let the tears fall.

She felt someone by the door so she wiped the tears and composed herself before turning around.

"Tears, nah Hill, you know I can't just leave you here all alone" Sam said whilst leaning against the doorframe, with some soot on his face but otherwise, fine.

"You are such  a jerk" she said hitting his arm.

He rubbed it while laughing.

"Oh so what, I almost die trying to save you an-"

"Oh no Wilson, you already saved me and we had the information, you just wanted to finish your rage session because of what he did and said to me while you were at the bar with Mal" Maria said raising her eyebrows.

Sam frowned.

"She never happened, I know we don't exactly know what this is but I do know that I would never EVER do that to you Hill" he said walking towards her.

She didn't say anything.

"So what you hate me now because I got mad and almost died" he said searching her eyes.

"No Sam, quite the opposite actually."

He froze, he swore he stopped breathing.

She started rambling and yelling at him; "I'm in love with you and that scares the shit out of me because I can't handle if you almost die every single time we go out on a mission Wilson." She said with fear in her voice and her eyes.

"You are in love with me?"

She froze.

"Ummm, no."

"Ummm yes" he said smiling really big.

She smiled.

"Yes. I am" she exhaled.

"Which is why I don't give you permission to do that again" she said putting her hands on his shoulders.

"No promises, especially if you get captured again. I love you too much to let that go" he said pulling her in.

She paused, inches away from his lips.

"I'm sorry what?"

"I love you Miss Hill" he said smirking.

"And I love you....you jerk" she said smiling before kissing him.
