Calm, peaceful. Those are what Krista wanted to believe as she sat curled up in the window of her parents room as her brother napped on their bed.
One of the two sibling's fathers was downstairs helping out around the hotel while the other sat at the bar drinking. Krista glanced to the positioned dance pole near the end of the king sized bed.
Her shoes gently tapped the wooden floor as she walked around it to feel the cold untouched metal. The craft of one of her fathers was...in a way admirable but she knew it wasnt something he did for fun. It was his job under the management of a gigantic asshole. Or at least that's what she liked to call him. Her dad knew him as Val and Krista hated him as much as her father.
Deciding to leave her brother asleep, Krista quietly went downstairs to check on things in the hotel reception. Charlie and Angel Dust were talking quietly as he looked stressed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"So you're really going back tonight?" Charlie sighed.
He nodded and gently swirled the drink in his hand before taking a long sip.
"I have to. I have money to make and a reputation to keep up. Just...dont mention it to the kids, please. They worry enough."
Krista had planned to stay hidden near the top of the first main stairwell but her cat decided to follow her from the bedroom and mowed loudly since Krista forgot to feed her. Angel dust and Charlie looked up to see Krista there and Angel could already tell she had heard everything they were talking about.
Krista walked slowly down the final few steps and picked up the pitch black cat and gently rubbed the small white patch on her chest as she mewed once again for food. Krista got out the food and looked up to her dad.
"You're going out again tonight aren't you?..."
Angel nodded. "I'm afraid so...Dads got work to do and his boss isnt nice. You already know that sweetie."
Krista poured the cat food and took a seat at the bar.
"But it isnt fair though. He has no right to keep you working if you dont wanna do it."
Her dad couldnt argue with her. They both knew it was something he hated.
Before Angel dust could say another word there was another knock at the door. Charlie straightened her bow.
"I'll get it."
