TW: Bullying and swearing

Dream. Thats the name that was established in the sandbox all those years ago. George vaguely remembered why that name was even chosen in the first place. Clay was that type of kid, always having the wildest imagination.

Everyone would always say, "that kid has the craziest dreams, it's gonna get him in trouble someday". George never quite understood why they said it almost disapprovingly. If anything Dream's, well Dreams, were the best thing about him. Therefore, the once seemingly adorable nickname was made.

Everything was so simple then. So...platonic? That was until the fight. To some, it might not feel like it was a big deal. But to these two, it was the end of their iconic friendship. But, George had moved on from that part of his life. Moved on from Clay.

Now, George was in junior year. Growing up and fast. Scary as it was, George was ready. This hick town had no way convinced him it was worth any more of his time than needed. He had a plan. Get good grades, get into a good college and split. Simple as that. What could get in the way?

As George walked through the halls, head down, he heard Clay let out his obnoxious tea kettle laugh. The weird thing is, George used to find it almost cute.

Clay's head poked up as he spotted George. He simply couldn't help outstretching his foot. George was so lost in his own world that he didn't realize he was falling until the second his nose collided with tile.

Once again, Dream's laugh was let out as George stood up. He saw his friend Darryl and practically sprinted towards him.

"You ok? I think you hit your muffin" Darryl questioned, concern plastered on his face.

"My muffin?" The shorter boy questioned, scanning the floor for a certain pastry.

"Yea, like your head", Darryl spoke like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Darryl was the opposite of Dream. George never could spot any malicious intent in Darryl's head, or as he would say, muffin.

Darryl went by Bad with his friends. The whole name itself was a straight up lie. He was anything but bad. But Darryl thought it was ironic so George let it stick. The two boys walked on to the cafeteria.

When they arrived, there other three friends were waiting for them. Skeppy, Tommy and Toby. Skeppy was Bad's friend since the first grade, and crush if you asked George. Toby was a freshman that George sort of took under his wing, he was a delight. Tommy was...loud.

"Hey mate. The fuck happened to your face?" Tommy asked, his face scrunched up.

George was about to explain why his nose was a beet red but Darryle screeched,"Language!" Tommy, being the mature child he is, smirked and stuck up his middle finger. Bad went to scold him, but Skeppy grabbed his arm, a sign to let it go.

"You know just Clay being an arse", George said softly. He usually didn't use vulgar words, but he just couldn't help it. Bad nodded, even he agreed. Tommy then stood up.

"Let's go Tubbo", Tommy spoke, using Toby's nickname. Tubbo of course obliged and got up, walking right to Tommy.

"And where do you two think you're going?" Skeppy questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"To give Clay a piece of our mind of course!" Tommy said confidently while Tubbo fiercely nodded his head up and down.

"Not only would Clay destroy you two, if anyone is confronting him it's me", Skeppy said, a glimmer in his eyes.

Before they could agree more George spoke, "No one will be fighting anyone. Just let it go, its fine."

To George's surprise, everyone sat back down. George saw Bad looked a little stressed from the tension and even scooted closer to Skeppy. He couldn't keep in his smirk as Skeppy looked at Darryl and smiled.

However, that smirk only lasted so long when he looked up and saw Dream staring at him from across the cafeteria. Clay averted his eyes as soon as George met his. George saw that undeniably fierceness in Clay's eyes.

Rage. Rage is what George swore he saw in he eyes that day.

That night as George closed his eyes, tempting sleep to come, he saw one image. Dream, staring at him with those emerald green eyes looking so fiery as if they could set a forest to flame. George shivered, waking up.

He didn't sleep that night.
