"As he should be. It took me 2 weeks to come up with a new piece of tech to fill in for the one he destroyed. I ought to just-" He stopped himself and took a deep breath. "Moving on. Intern, could you do me a solid and make a pot of this stuff?" he raised the bag of coffee. Marinette smiled.

"Sure! Be back soon!" she practically skipped out of the office. Dick gave Tim a look.

"You know Timmy, with the way things are going-" Tim sat back in his chair.

"Quiet Dick. I have work to do." Tim grabbed her file and flipped through it.

"You know, you should take a day off. Bruce said the last time you did was months ago, and apparently it was due to an injury that you still refuse to tell us, and-" Tim raised a hand.

"My injures, along with my worktime, are not your concern Dick." He rolled his eyes at the younger brother.

"Ok, whatever you say Timbers. Please be nice to Mari though. She's like a little ball of sunshine." Tim scratched his chin.

"Dick, there is something about her that I don't trust. Nobody in the world is just that happy. It just makes no sense. She's hiding something." Dick crossed his arms.

"Don't force it out of her. If she trusts you, she'll tell you but otherwise, as much as I hate to say it, it's none of your business. Now. I have to go upstairs to help Brucie out with the Damian situation. I don't want the kid spending every waking moment at this place as I did." Tim nodded and waved him off, tossing her file into the locked drawer at his desk, with a puzzled look on his face. Marinette skipped in with a travel mug.

"I go a little lost on the way, but Here ya go!" she beamed, Tim chuckled and took the mug with a hum of 'thanks'. He took a sip and moaned in pleasure.

"Thank god for you. Marinette, you are a goddess. The coffee goddess." Marinette blushed at the compliment.

"Er... thank you. Anywho, so what do you want to know? You obviously have questions." her demeanor changed, completely. She still had a bright smile on her face, but sincerity took over her features, Tim quickly looked down at the mess of stuff on his desk.

"Yes, actually, let me see..." he pulled out her file. She cringed slightly, and he saw, but stayed quiet. "So, it said you had some 'legal issues' in your file? I could look it up, but I'd rather hear your side, since you are my employee so you know, what's your side?" He folded his hands and tucked them under his chin. Marinette nervously shifted in her seat.

"Mr Drake, I-"

"Tim, please call me Tim. Mr Drake is my father, and I'd rather not hear another Mr Wayne" he jokingly gagged, and she giggled.

"Ok Tim, what I was going to say is that basically, my company was attacked by slander, but with a couple court cases, I handled it. I decided to hold back on my fashion company, while it was growing exponentially, I wanted to gain more experience, working in a company, and seeing how it runs, so I applied for an internship here. I don't plan on staying here for too long, because, well, while my assistant can handle some things back at MDC, I don't want her to-"

"Wait," he cut her off. "You're MDC? I apologize for interrupting, but I will need some evidence to support that claim." she nodded.

"I understand sir, better than most people probably would. Let me pull out my ID. I apologize for leaving that information out of my file, but I truly wanted to start from the bottom here. You know? Gain the full experience." Tim nodded and took the ID. His eyes widened.

"I hope you know you are one of my favorite designers. I own a fair amount of suits created by you." Marinette shot him a small smirk.

"Sir, that's why I wasn't so nervous coming in here. We have had a meeting in the past, but through my old assistant. You may remember her as-"
