chapter 7

"uhh yea im fine" i awkwardly answered back. I noticed the light was still green, so i grabbed his hand and quickly ran across the street so we could make it before the light turned red. I heard him yelp upon being pulled.

'cute'

"phew thank god we made it" i let go of his hand, and we started walking into the ice cream parlour.

i was skimming through what flavours they had, deciding what to pick. i decided on strawberry shortcake, since it looked really nice and i love strawberries :)

i turned to sunghoon and ask if he was done deciding.

"yea I'll get cookies and cream" (what a simple kid)

"in a cup or cone?"

"cup"

i walked over to the cashier, and ordered for the both of us.

"hi can i get one scoop of cookies and cream in a cup, and one scoop of strawberry shortcake in a cup please."

"yep that will be~" the cashier dragged out the 'e' while putting out orders into the computer thingy.

"7000 won" (around $8 aud)

i was about to reach into my bag that was on my back and get out some money, until i saw a hand reach out passing my face. i followed the arm, and was met with sunghoon paying for our ice cream.

the cashier took the money from him and thanked him. i just stood there quietly, a bit in shock as the lady handed us our ice creams, that a different person scooped up for us. i took the ice creams from her hands and went to sit down with sunghoon. we found a table and sat down.

"i could've paid, you know" I watched him as he looked up at me.

"no, my treat. im repaying you for finding my lucky charm" he said to me reassuringly.

'damn then i wish you would lose things more often so i can give it to you. not just cause i wanted to hang with him more. like if he was gonna buy me food everytime i found something he'd lost, then I'd be looking eVerYwheRe. who doesn't love free food right...'

i continued to eat my ice cream. i don't know if it was just me, but i feel like ice cream has never tasted this good.

'is it cause it's free?'

'cause im eating it with someone? no no i don't feel this way when i eat ice cream with youngmi and the boys.'

i pushed away my thoughts and decided to start a conversation.

"soooo how's school?" he looked up unexpectedly, with his spoon in his mouth

"uhhh yea it's good" he answered shortly

"uhmm you seem to have already known your friends. were you guys close or something?" i diDnT know what else to ask, so I asked what came to mind.

"yea we went to the same school since we were little. i was the last to move from our old school, now here i am"
i was interested in his small backstory. it wasn't much but it was enough to get me curious.

"what about you?" i looked at him shocked

"what about me?" i was intrigued but confused as to what he was trying to asking.

"your friends. i don't know anyone else in the class besides my friends and you." i was a bit shook. i could feel my cheeks warming up a bit, since he only knew me.

"uhmm im friends with youngmi, jay and jake. we've been friends since we were little, and are now pretty much inseparable. we're all like siblings"

i laughed a little after little memories of us playing together when we were little flashed into my mind.

"ahhh, that's nice" i heard him say.

"yea, it is"

it got a bit awkward so i looked down and started to eat my ice cream. i checked my phone and realised it was already 4. is it too early to go home...? i looked up to him asking if he wanted to do anything else.

"hey, you wanna do anything else while we're out?"

he looked up when i finished asking my question. i laughed at him realising he had a bit of ice cream near his mouth. i grabbed my napkin that was on the table and reached out to wipe his mouth. he looked very shocked. like veRy sHocKeD. his eyes were wide open, and his cheeks started to turn a bit red.

"uhhh i-i dont m-mind"

"hmmm let's go to the park then. you down?"

"uhmm y-yea s-sure" i giggled to myself hearing him stutter.

we quickly finished our ice cream and left the store.
