"Y/N, why do you think you'd have more luck than us?" Blondie crossed her arms, eyeing me suspiciously.
"I overheard some of the officers talking, he'd been living in Kelsey's house for a while right? Well, then he's probably more comfortable with me than anyone else, I spent more time at her place than my own half the time."
The Boss and Blondie exchanged a look, before Prentiss nodded. "Fine, but Dr. Reid will be in there with you to make sure you don't try anything."
~~~
Eric Dean was resting his head on the desk, when the door creaked open. "Agents, welcome ba-" he froze when he made eye contact with Y/N. "It's you."
She slid into the seat across from him, plastering a smile on her face. "Hello, Eric, I'm Y/N, but you already knew that, didn't you?" Reid stood in the corner of the room, watching her every move. The way she switched personalities from how she spoke to Emily to how she was speaking to Dean was... mildly disturbing.
He didn't answer, he just nodded.
"I bet you know a lot about me, don't you, Eric?"
He swallowed, nodding again, unable to stop his eyes from wandering. Reid shifted uncomfortably, he sure as hell hope whatever Y/N was doing would work.
"You saw everything Kelsey and I got up to, didn't you Eric?"
His eyes widened and he let out a breathy sigh. "Everything."
"But that wasn't enough, was it?" Y/N leaned forward, aware of how strong her perfume was, and the affect it'd have on Dean. "You wanted to join in, didn't you?"
He shook his head.
"No? What did you want to do then, Eric?"
"Kelsey was mine." He growled, digging his nailed into his pant legs, old denim jeans.
"So you killed her, so that no one else could?"
"No!" He glared daggers at Y/N, but she didn't falter.
"No? Then why'd you do it?"
He flashed his teeth, straining against the restraints. "Kelsey wasn't the one I wanted to kill."
Now it was Y/N's turn to be caught off guard. She flinched, leaning back in her chair slightly. She took a deep breath, then looked him in the eye. "If I was the target, then why'd you kill those other women?"
Dean licked his lips, then crooked his finger. Y/N leaned forward. "Because after I killed her, I realized that nothing I could ever do with them would ever feel so good."
She stood up, the chair sliding away and causing Dean to jump. Y/N turned to open the door, but Reid grabbed her arm. "Where are you going?"
"That was enough of a confession wasn't it? I'm going back to my cell." Y/N pulled her arm away roughly, then pushed open the door.
~~~
Six hours, twenty seven minutes, and three seconds. After I'd returned to my cell they'd been nice enough to put a clock outside the door, and that's how long it had been since the man who killed the most beautiful, most kind, most compassionate, most... perfect woman I'd ever met revealed that I was supposed to be the one to die. That if I had been home, she'd still be alive. I didn't want to imagine what he might've done to her, but at least she'd be alive. But no. She was dead, and I was alive, and so was Eric Dean. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the cells door opening, it was Agent Prentiss. I wasn't exactly in the mood for nicknames at the time.
"Ms. Y/L/N?" I looked up, then away once I realized she'd see how red my eyes were. "Y/N... I understand that you're probably not... in the best place right now-"
I cut her off. "You think?"
Prentiss shook her head, "Look, I'm just going to get to the point, the BAU is in need of a technical analyst, and you've more than proven you have the skills for the job."
Well, that's not what I was expecting her to say. "What? Work for the FBI?"
"You've proven you're investigative and have strong moral character, we think you're a good fit. If you don't want it though, we will have to prosecute you to the full extent of the law."
I stood up, brushing off my top. "Okay, I think I need to get out of LA anyways."
She smiled. "It'll take some paperwork, but Y/N Y/L/N, welcome to the BAU."
