To My Future Self

Dear me in the future,

How are you today?

I hope you’ve remembered

To brush your hair, okay?

Do you remember how-

Lonely we must have felt?

How I never went outside?

How I never left?

Are you over there-

A ‘someone’ to people?

Are you a doctor?

Are you a psycho?

Do I still write stories?

Am I a fan of kiwi?

Am I married?

Do I have any children?

Is my brother single,

Just as he promised?

Is mars a planet

Full of living maggots?

Is the internet still our friend?

Do we have real friends at all?

Did you give up?

Should I keep growing tall?

Are we still dopes

                In math and in Science?

Do I like cheese?

                It makes me go ‘bleh!’

Do I still read fiction over reality news?

Do I still play horror with a pirate crew?

Do I still dream during day and night?

Do I still eat chocolate out of sight?

Did I change?

Do I still lie?

Do I need to change?

Do I have to try?

And now I end this with a little quote:

“Things will work out!”

-A message from your past dope.
