Lim’s POV
Less is more
Well, that’s what I think my name means. I am Lim. Not just Lim for short. But literally, Lim is my name.
I know what you are thinking. Lim sounds like a boy’s name. Well that would be easier. But I am a girl.
I’m a typical 20-year-old girl who is currently studying BS Biology in New York University (NYU).
I hate to admit it but I don’t have a specific goal of what I want to be in the future.
“Hey Lim, what’s up?”.
Even if I can’t see the one who called, my whole body and mind recognizes his voice.
I turned around and saw him.
The one who makes me feel like a girl.
Even though he doesn’t think that I see him as a man.
“Hi Vritz!”
Then we will do the “brotherly hug” that’s part of our friendship.
FRIENDSHIP which means yeah, caps lock, I am his friend, and he is my friend.
And I know what you are thinking again, you would think that this is a typical friendzone love story. Scratch that. Love? I think that’s way too far. Way too deeper.
“Earth to Lim, what are you thinking about?”
“Nothing important”. Thank God I didn’t stutter.
“Cool, then let’s go now or we’ll be late.”
Then just like the old times, we will ride our bikes and go together to school.
Sounds romantic huh?
That is not till another bike will join the road.
“Hi Babe, you look dashing in the morning”.
Yeah, that’s Leone.
The prettiest, loveliest, and the most talented girl in the neighborhood. And the girlfriend.
“Hi Lim. You look cute with the skirt. It fits you.” And then she’ll smile so bright with her perfect white set of teeth.
“Uhm, thanks Leone”.
And just like a considerate “friend” I will pedal slowly and let the two enjoy the ride ahead.
That’s how my daily routine is.
Wondering about how nice it would be if I was the one beside him. I didn’t notice the truck coming from my side.
And in just a mere second, I am already in the hands of death.
