Caramel Jadenson winced at the thump from the front door.
Caramel was disgusted.
She hated the fact that her only parent, her once beautiful mother had
become a cold-blooded cocaine addict. "Caramel, Caramel", Kathy
hollered her daughter's name.
"Mom, what is it?" its 3:00 am in the freaking morning", Caramel stated.
Don't use that tone with me and you know the drill", Kathy replied.
Caramel did know the drill, she put the drill in effect everyday ever
since her mom-Kathy got a cocaine user and seller best friend and her
dad died of cancer.
Caramel went to the kitchen stomping in every step and got the
vegetable cutting tray and sat it by her mom on the couch. "Where is it and How much?", Caramel asked with an attitude.
"In the black bag and the whole bag" her mom said.
She reached into the black bag on the side of the couch and pulled out a thick full mini bag of cocaine.
"Ma, what the hell?" she exclaimed
"You're not about to snort all this",
"Heifer I'm you mother you'll do anything I say do so yes I am", her mother replied angrily.
"No you're not I'm going to dump this, it's killing you", Caramel claimed running to the toilet with her mom on her heels.
"Give me my shit you dumb bitch", Kathy cried. Before caramel could protest her mom had slipped
her hands around her neck and choked her.
Caramel struggled from her mom grasp." let...me...g...g...go", Caramel
managed to choke out between the hesitations of her mom's hold.
"Are you going to obey your mom and do the drill?" Caramel couldn't speak;
she nodded her head while walking back to the living room to the tray and bag.
She slowly removed the drug carefully not spilling it on the couch. After Caramel was done she slowly walked to her room. "I love you
Caramel", Kathy explained. Yeah right Caramel thought to herself. "She loves herself her best friend and cocaine, but what about me?"
Caramel glanced at the picture of her dad sitting on her dresser, "Why did it have to be you? it should have been her". With those last words she cried herself to sleep.
"Imagine living like a king for a day, a single night witho- "Caramel ringtone for her alarm
clock went off playing pierce the veil song. 5:45 bulged on the screen on
her phone. Caramel took a shower, brushed her teeth and washed her face.
About 6:15 she was ready. Since her bus didn't arrive until 6:30 she
decided to give her friend a call. "Ring, ring" The phone continued to ring.
"Hello?" there was a bass voice on the other end.
"Hey Charles" Caramel said into the receiver
"Hey Cici",he replied "whassup"
"Nothing, just waiting for the bus"
"Cici I'm going to come pick you up, let you drive"
"Charles no its fine I can ride the bus"
" Caramel your seventeen live a little", he tries to convince Caramel.
