Turning to face her
partner, she sighed.
"Don't be ridiculous, I've
known you long enough
that I can tell when
something is wrong.
After all it must have
been something
*specific* that caused
me to wake up at- "
Her dentenve was
punctuated by a loud
yawn."Seventeen, no
wait *eighteen*
minutes past four in
the morning." Her eyes
sparkled with mirth,
and she gave him a
small smile to reassure
him that she was, in
fact, not actually being
serious.
Sam, however, wasn't
quite as amused.
"Caitlin." He warned,
somehow managing to
appear both exhausted
and authoritative
simultaneously.
Immediately, Caitlin's
expression softened,
yet she showed no sign
of desisting. "Another night mare?" She
questioned, tentatively.
There was no reply,
save for him turning his
head away from her,
but then no reply was
needed, as she was
already perfectly aware
of the answer. "Oh,
Sam."
Slowly, she reached for
him. With measured
movements, she first
placed her hand upon
his shoulder, after
which she slid it around
the back of his neck, so
that her hand rested
upon the back of his
head. Pulling him
towards her, she
wrapped him into a
tight hug, one which he
returned with equal
fervor. Cailtin whispered
unintelligible words of
comfort into the man's
ear, desperately
wishing that there was
