The hockey player

Chapter 1

POV McKenzie

I'm 20. My name is McKenzie and I'm into sports. I love watching hockey... Especially Tampa Bay Lightning hockey. I love Steven Stamkos. Someday I promise you I will meet him.

"Im going to a lightning game and I have an extra ticket.. wanna go?" I shouted at Clara through our office doors.
"Sure, isn't it tomorrow?"
"Yessss! I'm so excited!"
We work at a writing building. We make stories, newspapers, magazines, and more. We've been best friends forever and now we have an office next to eachother.

"I'm going home.. I'm exhausted and gotta get rested for tomorrow's (Saturday) game." I cheered.
"I'm right behind ya!" She chuckled closing down her laptop and slipping it into her pouch.
I hopped in the car and drove myself to subway for some dinner. Got a tuna sub, like always. With an extra sweet tea.

A day later (2 hours before game)

Texting:
Mckenzie: on my way to pick u up.
Clara: kk I'm outside.
Mckenzie: Stamkos is mine...
Clara: yeah yeah. I'm going for u!

I pulled up and we drove to the Amelia arena and got an exclusive parking spot in the back where most of the players park.
We got to our box seats and cheered for 3 hours straight as the buzzers went off every time they scored. We versed Montreal Canadians and beat them 4-2.
Everyone started leaving but I always wait till the very end incase something good happens. So I sit there until the janitor pulls a cart around picking up trash and the last few people are climbing out of their chairs.
We hop up and race to our cars.
"Last one there is a rotten egg," Clara shouted as she ran like she was two.
I laughed then ran after her.
BOOM
We were in the parking lot and I hit something. I fell to the ground and looked up to see a blonde, tall, fit man helping me up.
"Are you okay?! I am so sorry!" He said.
I looked up to Steven Stamkos. I gasped and couldn't breath. My heart was racing as Clara slowly turned to video tape this magical moment.
