LANA SEARCHED THE CROWD ANXIOUSLY. She kept checking the time on her phone , shifting from one foot to the other. She missed JJ. Lana nearly slit her throat from the thought— never thinking in a million years she'd become so addicted to one person. Yet here she was , huffing when her eyes met Topper Thorton. He gave her a half smile and for some odd reason , she returned it...
She hadn't forgiven him but she knew that he could've pressed chargers on her too and he didn't , and in her oh so forgiving heart , she thanked him for that.
"Waiting on someone?" Sarah Cameron hummed from beside her in a teasing manner , she too had her mind on a certain Pogue friend.
Lana licked her dry lips before shrugging. "No." She lied , her voice giving her away.
Sarah chuckled and Lana blushed. She hated her terrible inability to lie. "Interesting— anyone I know then?" The Kook pressed giddily.
Did Sarah know JJ? Lana was pretty sure everyone in the Outer Banks knew of the blonde , but she only shook her head in a quick decision not to trust her voice at the moment.
Her eyes kept looking at her breath was caught in her throat whenever she caught sight of his blonde hair throughout the crowd. Her heart nearly melted at the sight... The tux he was wearing was clearly wrinkled , but not in a way that many people would care to pay attention to. She watched him discard a black plate as he too , began looking around for her.
