"Will anything ever get better?" Thought the school's most ordinary girl, Crystal. At school, nobody talked or listened to her except her best friend, Chloe, because they thought she was unworthy. Chloe was very popular and wealthy; she even had a boyfriend, while Crystal is not one bit admired or wealthy.

After another day in school, Crystal was sadder than ever. Everybody ignored her as usual, and today Chloe was going out with the popular girls and her boyfriend so she couldn't hangout. She went home and flopped onto her bed. "I wish I could live in a world where I can be as popular as Chloe, and become a princess so no one could ignore me again."

That night, Crystal had an extraordinary dream. She dreamed she was in a peninsula with beautiful flowers and butterflies, but on the other side was a cage. She walked towards it, and she saw a boy trapped in it. The boy called for help, but suddenly a monster emerged from behind the cage. The beast was frightful. It had sharp teeth and sharp claws, and it seemed like it was very, very hungry. It reached out to grab Crystal...

Crystal woke up with a start. What was that? It was so scary! She reached to grab her clock to check the time, but the clock wasn't there. Crystal looked around. She was no longer in her bed, but instead in a different land! Everything was so beautiful! She was not in her house anymore, but instead in a meadow with grass so green it looked like a soft carpet. The carpet seemed endless. Crystal looked for Chloe, but Chloe was not there. The land seemed to have no inhabitants, and she was alone and lost. So Crystal started walking, hoping to find someone who could help her.

Later, she came upon a tiny cottage. As she looked around, she saw many, many more small cabins. All of them were so little, Crystal would be able to hold one of them in her palm! Then, one little creature emerged from one of the cottages. Crystal realized it was a tiny butterfly pixie. Then, more butterflies appeared out of each of their cabins. Outside the largest cottage stood a butterfly that Crystal guessed was their queen. The sight was terrific. Then the pixies whispered, "Help us, Save us!" Millions of soft voices echoed around the plains. Crystal felt a shiver creeping up her spine. "S-sorry, I can't help you." She told them. Then she turned around and ran from the butterfly pixies, not wishing to hear their plea again.

Crystal explored the land some more. Soon she started to get tired. "When will I find somewhere to rest?" She thought. Suddenly, the world around her became blurry. Then she fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

Crystal woke to the sound of people talking. She looked around at the strange land still around her. Two people were chattering something about their savers and heroes and rescue missions. "W-who?" She asked in a weak voice. "Oh, she's awake!" Crystal hears someone say. "That's good." Someone else murmured. She sat up, feeling dazed. Hello, said a familiar face. Chloe! "Oh my gods, Chloe!" Crystal exclaimed, "Chloe, what's going on? Can you take us back? Who's that boy beside you? He doesn't look like your boyfriend. I know I'm bad at remembering faces, but that's not him. Where are we? Is this a dream? What are those weird butterfly thingies? How was your date?" She took a deep breath. "Can we go home now?" "What?" Asked the girl. "I've never met you in my life. Anyways, hello! I'm Avery. He is my companion, Aaron. By the way, you're right. He is NOT my boyfriend." Avery grinned, gesturing to the boy beside her. "Wow." Crystal stated. "You sure look a lot like Chloe." Avery shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. The butterpixies cursed you. We took care of you for a while, but you've got to be careful. Don't think about Aureland or us, or you will get worse. I should probably send you home now. You don't belong here." "I'm going to wipe your memory of Aureland, too, in case you tell anyone." She added with a stern look. "W-wait!" Shouted Crystal desperately, "I won't tell! At least tell me why-" "Aureland," She thought, then her eyesight went black, and before she knew it, she could feel her blankets over her again. She quickly fell asleep once more afterwards.
