One day when our paths would cross
I would hug you and never let go.
I would hold you close and whisper
Sweet, seamless nothings to your ear.
I would tell you stories of days before you,
And days to be spent knowing your soul.
We'll talk about the places we'll go
And places only we can dream of.
I would trace my name on your palm, hours on end
With my rough and calloused hands.
But even through it all I would pause,
Only to wander in the pools of your eyes.
I sigh.
I will choose to drown in them each time,
Just so I can see them again tomorrow as I wake
From a dream that only you can wake me from.
