"Blind date" sabi ko sa dalawang kaibigan ko na nasa office ko ngayon. Kakatapos lang nang meeting ko kasama ang mga Head Teachers at mga Master Teachers nang school nang biglang sumulpot ang dalawang ito.
"Yeah, you see Miss Principal, kailangan mo ding lumabas, hindi yung sa school, office, bahay, school,office bahay ka lang." sabi sa akin ni Cindy, my Engineer friend.
"wala akong time busy ako." Sabi ko. Gabundok pa ang paperworks ko dahil december ngayon, end of the year and not to mentions parties and seminars. Im so stress. Handling a Large Internation Academy is never been easy.
"gosh Veronica parati na lang yan ang rason mo." Sabi naman ni Melissa, na isang interior designer. We all meet during college we are not classmates since magka-iba kami nang mga course but we are a member of the same organization during college.
"look, my work is not easy hindi ko pwedeng pabayaan na lang mga ginagawa ko I am holding the balance of this huge Academy. If I choose to stop now bukas dadagdag nanaman ang mga gagawin ko. So I don't have the leisure of time to deal with things like Blind dates." Sabat ko sa kanila. Nag tinginan naman sina Cindy at Melissa
"dear, it is okay to take break you don't really have to bind yourself in your work kulang na lang e pakasalan mo yang trabaho mo. Marami ka nang napatunayan Roni. You already earned your Ph.D at the age of 24 , You are the youngest Principal ever in your field, you've already got so many awards , recognition and you are already 28 and you have never dated anyone at nasa marrying age ka na at malapit ka nang mawala sa calendar." Melissa said. They really insisting it.
"No law dictate that a woman should get married before 30 and why should i get married if i have a stable job? i can perfectly support myself." sabay tingin sa document na nasa harap ko.rge
"ahh! well , you are right someone like you who earn a lot might not need to get married , but please at least date someone. We don't want you to be an old maid . we don't want to see you being alone in your life Roni" I look at the two of them.
"NO!" I said flatly at biglang hindi maipinta ang mga mukha nila.
"VERONICA!!!" they said in unison.
"i have so many things to do and so many seminars to attend okay. Exclude me in your business. My Job is my priority." Saka ako tumayo para lumabas na sana nang may sinabi si Cindy.
"we don't want to see you being envious to us when the time comes that we're married and have our own family Roni. we don't want to see you being alone." I feel something about what she said. I just sigh, I can't believe i'm hearing this. Melissa just got married and Cindy is already engage, am I really being left alone?
Maybe they are right I am not getting any younger nawala na rin sa isip ko ang edad ko. After I graduate I passed my Board Exam, got hired and immediately enrolled in a Master's Degree and after that I went to pursue my Doctoral Degree, I never took a break in studying , so to sum up all I did my life is study and study and got promotion. I can't even remember the last time I went out to have fun. I can't believe I'm doing this.
"Fine!" I said and it seems like their world lights-up .
"really? Yay!" Cindy said.
"yeah, just make it weekend and not this coming Saturady and Sunday I have seminar to attend." I said.
"Don't worry i'll talk to my fiance about this. " she said,
"k fine. I'll go ahead."
We'll there is no harm to try.
