Chapter Five: New Emotions

I didn't realize I spaced out until I heard a snapping noice and shook myself out of the trance. I focused and saw that Tanaka was looking worried for me.

"(Y/N)? Are you okay?" He bent down a little to my height.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good. Just a little tired." I smiled at the boy in front of me, the boy I had a crush on.

"I can carry you home if you want, since you're tired and all." Tanaka turned around and signaled me onto his back.

"I can still walk Tanaka, don't worry about it." I waved him off.

"It's dangerous to be walking when you're tired. Especially when you dozed off a few minutes ago."

"Fine I'll get on your back." I climbed onto Tanaka's back and threw my arms over his shoulder.

He stood up and wrapped his arms under my thighs. He started walking out and to my apartment. No one even bothered to question what was happening.

Tanaka POV:

I was carrying my crush on my back, taking her to her apartment. I don't even know how I got in this situation but I didn't want it to change.

A few blocks from the building, I felt (Y/N)'s breathing slow a little and her head pressed against my back. I turned my head just a bit and caught a glimpse of her sleeping.

"So much for you'll be fine. Your parents are going to eat me alive." I laughed to myself.

I got to the building but there was a problem. (Y/N) wasn't awake yet and I didn't know what apartment number she lived in.

When I approached the keypad, I was buzzed in. I looked around in confusion and a voice came from the keypad.

"Bring her to apartment 3J on the third floor. Thank you Tanaka." The voice got cut off.

I would've yelled at the voice if (Y/N) wasn't asleep on my back. Instead, I hesitantly opened the door and took her to the third floor. I peeked to the apartment number I was told to bring her to.

Outside the door was Mr.Aki waiting. I walked up to him and he looked thankful.

"Sorry for cutting off like that, but thank you for bringing (Y/N) home." Mr.Aki tried to think of how to take (Y/N) but couldn't figure it out.

Mr.Tatsuo came from the apartment, "Oh Tanaka, I saw you with (Y/N) out of the window. You can set her in her room over there." He pointed to a closed door in the small apartment.

"Are you sure I can... go in her, you know... room?" I wasn't sure I should be allowed in there without permission.

"I'll deal with it if she gets mad. Go ahead, I trust you. Be careful because she talks in her sleep sometimes." Mr.Tatsuo winked at me and I took my shoes off by the entrance for politeness.

I walked to the door that Mr.Tatsuo pointed me to and opened it. I took a step into the room and shut the door behind me. I walked over to the bed that was pressed against the corner of the room and gently sat and put (Y/N) down to sleep.

I slowly stood up but was stopped by two hands that wrapped around my waist. (Y/N) was still asleep so she must've been doing this in her dream. What a lucky guy it must be to have her hug them like that.

I slowly put my hand over hers and removed them from my waist. I froze when I heard her speak.

"Hmm.. I like... you, Tanaka."

I quickly turned my head to see if she was awake, but she wasn't. She was saying this in her dream. I hoped that she actually meant it.

"I like you too, (Y/N)." I whispered even though I knew she wouldn't hear me.

I looked down and something strange happened. With my left hand over hers, the string connecting us was hanging off. That string then slowly became purple.

That was odd, it wasn't a solid color of red or blue. It became a mix of both, purple. Does that mean that (Y/N) is both my soulmate and rival?

I hoped that's what it meant. After all, she is the one I want to be with. Now and forever.
