chapter one

"don't worry manager jaehyung," chloe yelled back, "i'll make sure to be safe!"

chloe exited her company building, sm entertainment, and immediately pulled up her mask before taking a further step.

chloe kim was debuting as a female solo artist in a few days with the song "wish you were here."

she had been training under the company for eight years and was well known by everyone in the company for her soft voice and kind, yet bubbly personality.

after her late night training, chloe wanted to buy some ice cream and go for a walk under the stars one last time before becoming busy with her debuting schedule.

she was able to get away with going alone without her manager and made her way to the convenient store.

just as she placed her hand on the last melona bar, there was another hand that reached for it as well, which gently brushed against chloe's hand.

chloe immediately pulled back, feeling a sharp pain in her wrist as the male also pulled back, holding onto his wrist with pain in his face.

chloe continued to put pressure on the pained area of her wrist as she looked up and said, "you can go ahead and take it."

for someone who was wearing a bucket hat and a mask, ava was able to figure out that the male was fairly young. he shook his head and gestured for ava to take it, "no you go ahead. i can get something else."

"ah well then," ava replied, "thank you."

with her response, she took the ice cream bar, thanked the male again, and went to pay for it.

chloe left the store and placed the ice cream bar on the table to examine her wrist. the burning sensation died down a bit, but it continued to tingle.

she rolled the sleeve of her hoodie and stared at the spot to see it become bright pink.

"don't tell me i injured it right before promotions," chloe mumbled to herself.

she proceeded her night by eating the ice cream, while enjoying the scenery at the near park.

before leaving her family and hometown in canada, it was a weekly thing for chloe and her family to go for late night strolls under the stars together, so she hoped to continue that.

as she approached a near bench, she spotted a little boy sitting on it with a bigger male kneeling down in front of him. chloe quickened her pace, afraid that harm would be done to the little boy, but as she got nearer, she realized it was the same male from earlier.

his mask was further down his face, hanging around his chin, which gave chloe a chance to see what he looked like. from the side, chloe thought the male looked attractive, almost too attractive.

eavesdropping in on the conversation, she heard the male say, "why don't you eat the ice cream and once you're done, i'll help you find your parents okay?"

the little boy nodded and responded, "but what about you? you don't have ice cream."

the male let out a laugh and ruffled the little boy's hair, "i'll be okay without ice cream. now eat your ice cream before it melts."

chloe continued her stroll, smiling to herself after seeing the kind male take care of the lost child. after all, seeing an attractive male who was kind and caring was very rare.

"manager jae," chloe called out, "do we have any ointment or pain relief medicine?"

"i can check. why?" jaehyung asked.

"because my wrist suddenly started hurting really bad when i went on the stroll and it still feels funny."

"where? let me see."

chloe sat next to her manager as he rolled her sleeve up, preparing to massage the area until he saw the spot and stared at it.

"what's the matter?" chloe asked.

"this is your soulmate tattoo .." jaehyung gasped.

"chloe .. you've met your soulmate already."
