"Hey," I say.
"Hey yourself," says Eridel, a small smile forming.
"Um... Eridel? Can you give the boy some space so I can... you know, free him?" says the familiar voice.
"Oh yes, of course. Sorry dad."
So... that's who that was. What is he-. No that's a stupid question. One of the most powerful person in the world just died, so of course others of equal, or slightly lesser power, would come to the funeral.
If he's here though... just how long have I been out? It can't be more than a week or he would've already left as the funeral would've been done already. It can't be less than three days either because of how long it takes to get here. Although... he could have rode a dragon.
A hand passes by overhead followed by a murmur. Pressure, that I wasn't even aware of, disappears from each of my limbs.
Even though it's likely that I can move now, my body still feels incredibly sore. No doubt, due to being still for so long.
The only thing that will help is to let my body heal naturally. To help speed up the process of regaining the full use of my body, I move as many parts as possible to get the blood flowing.
It takes a minute before I feel comfortable enough with my preparations.
Now for the difficult part. Moving around while ignoring the pain and protests of my body.
Step one. Sitting up.
It takes me a few tries to sit up, each time causing an explosion of pain to flow emerge from my back. Pain that makes me want to lie back down and not move.
Even with my success at such a small thing, a shadow of the pain rocks my body. While it's not enough to make me cringe, it's enough to be distracting.
I close my eyes to prepare myself for the next step and to block out as much of the pain as possible.
Some time passes before a pair of hand rubs my arms, a strange warmth spreading from within. The warmth slowly increases as the voice of a female seems to echo through my mind. The language spoken is definitely elvish but due to how fluid and fast it is, I'm only able to catch a few words. The warmth increases to a point in which it feels like I have entered a sauna, and it continues to feel like so until the hands remove themselves from my body.
All of the major problems that plagued my body, including a few that I wasn't aware of, disappeared. Not only am I no longer sore but my hearing also improved and I can feel... everything?
It's weird, I can feel the presence of everyone around me even though I have no guarantee that they are actually there. There is only one piece of information that could reveal the location of a single person and that's it.
Yet, I can still feel those in the room and somehow, I have a general idea to how far away they are. The only times that I've felt anything similar to this, was when I was focusing on my surroundings while fighting. Even then, it was nowhere near as strong as it is now.
Opening my eyes, I'm surprised to find that my vision is sharper and more vivid compared to a short time ago. I'm even more surprised to see Eridel panting in exhaustion.
Just what happened to put me in such a state? Was I standing at deaths door? I must've been if I have such... longstanding effects. Especially considering that I heal faster than most people. But... that does raise the question of why no one bothered to heal me until now. Well... unless, of course, if I used my entire fuel tank.
"-don, focus," says Eridel.
"Huh, what?"
"As I was saying, you need to eat something. You've been out for three days already. Also... we need to get you ready for tomorrow."
