Author's Note: I normally don't do this but I felt the need to since I did a half-baked job with editing (it's 12:30 in the morning when I posted this. I typically go to bed by 10:30/11). My apologies for the more obvious (if there is any) mistakes.

Just an hour or two left and I’ll be back at the academy.

I'm excited to see everyone as it has been too long since I have last seen them. The last time I did was a few months ago, after the summer tournament. Since then, I have been in my own version of hell. As such, my entire body is a little sore.

Due to being a part of the Dragoons, I was requested by Laendel to spend my summer training. Sadly, I agreed.

It wouldn’t have been so bad if I had someone to talk to, however my teacher decided to move us away from civilization in order to keep me focused. According to him, I kept distracting myself whenever he wasn’t teaching me. I’m not even sure why that would matter but apparently it does. So not only was I not able to speak to Eridel and her family, but I couldn't contact Cecilia and them too.

Unfortunately, the training started almost as soon as I arrived and ended two days ago. The training ended so late that I had only a few hours to gather everything before leaving on the back of Celenoral. Even with this, I'll be reaching the academy a day before the start of school.

So far, the journey itself has been peaceful. Then again, it’s not like something will happen to us while we are flying. In addition, no one is stupid enough to make any aggressive moves under the nose of a dragon. Even if they were, it’s not like there is anything for them to steal as everything is in the portal. It’s a good thing too because the sound of the armour and sword bouncing against each other would probably have become annoying within the first hour of flying.

Still, it’s hard to believe that it's been two years since I’ve step foot into this place. Just like that, two years passed by. I gained enemies, made friends, found a new family and most importantly of all, found myself. Even though what I found may not have been ideal.

Sure, it annoys me and true, there were times when it was hard. But there were also times when it was fun. It helps that I am with amazing people, even if a few of them likes to tease me whenever possible. One thing that never changes however is the fact that I loved every moment I have been here.

This is a wondrous place to live in, but undoubtedly, this place changed me. Some would consider the change to be for the better while some would say it's for the worst.

It all started when someone tried to kill me in my own room. I knew from then on that I'll have to kill or be killed. I think I always knew this however, as practically all students at the academy are expected to serve their country when the time comes, although, I wasn't put to the test until a year ago.

On our way back from the elf kingdom, a group of assassins attacked us. The guards that we had were annihilated in a flash. Wanting to test myself, I left the safety of the carriage and met the assassins head on.

This came to be my introduction to the orcs. They looked nothing like I thought they would.

As for the fight itself, I don't think it would be too far off to say that I enjoyed it.

Well, even though the fight may have been enjoyable, what happened after wasn't.

For the first few days, it felt like I was covered in blood. No matter how much washing I did, no matter how hard I scrubbed, the feeling of being covered in dried blood remained.

Even worse were the nightmares. It took two weeks for them to stop, the faces and screams of those I killed haunting my dreams. Of course, the nightmares stopped but I still saw their faces in windows for a few months. Hell, sometimes when I'm in a large crowd, I could hear their screams among the yelling and talking.
