"Beautiful, right?"
'Yeah. I want it to be the last thing I ever see."
"Why?"
"When I die, I want to die seeing the beauty in life." He went and sat next to the girl, their legs dangling off the edge of the building.
"You know what's even more beautiful than the city?"
"What?"
"You."
"Ha!" He have her a puzzled look. "My boyfriend just dumped me, my parents hate me, I'm isolated at school and practically everyone I know insults me everyday. And here you are. A complete stranger. Calling me beautiful."
"It's the truth."
"How do I know your not lying?"
"I never lie." She looked down at her hands, tears in her eyes.
"Hey." He put an arm around her before she burst into tears. "I may not know you, but I can tell how strong you've been. Give me your arms." She put her arms out in front of him and he lifted up her sleeves. Scars, scabs and blood lined them. "These are all the battles you've won. The words you've been wanting to say. The times you wanted to stand up for yourself, but were too scared to try."
"Why would you care?"
"Because I can't bare to see another person die. Not like this." She wiped away the tears and gave him a hug.
"Thankyou. For everything." She let go and they talked the night away, with nothing to lose and nothing to gain.
