Start from the beginning

Well just say it, you moron! Open your goddamn mouth and tell him you want to do this!

My inner princess orders while glaring at me with her hands on her hips. I nod at her and her face instantly lights up.

"Clace," I whisper getting his attention. When he looks up at me I see vulnerability in it.

"I want to do this, really badly," I state, upon uttering those words his face lights up as if I just switched on the button of a bulb.

"Really?" He asks with his voice full of hope.

I nod my head enthusiastically.

"Very."

*******

"So which restaurant did Vicky make a reservation for us in?" I ask as we drive down the national road towards the Town.

"Alléchant, it was a French restaurant." He answers averting his eyes from the road to look at me smiling.

"Have you ever been there?" I ask making small talk.

"Once, mom took me, it's owned by the mayor." He answers politely.

"Hmmm" I hum in response. I decided to just look at him while he's driving. I know I'm creepy but I really can't get enough of how good he looks.

"Can I ask you something?" Clace suddenly talks startling me.

"Of course," I answer nervously.

"I just really want to know, so please answer me okay? Like honestly." He says giving me a side glance. He looks completely serious and it makes me scared. I sigh and nod my head.

"Why did you avoid me the day after that dinner in the waterfalls?" He asks.

My heart stops. Shit! He's bringing that up now? What the-

"Come on M, please, it has been bothering the hell out of me." He insists when I said nothing.

"Um..." I mumble before closing my eyes and taking a deep breath. Shit, I'm going to have to tell him. I'm really telling him. It's gonna be so awkward. Clace looks at me again expectantly with his brows knitted together. "Well, uh... I had a dream." I answer vaguely.

"And..." Clace inserts. I bite my lip.

"It was the kiss," I add with finality.

"Oh." Clace's response showed that he was obviously taken aback. Yeah, Clace 'oh'. Happy now? I roll my eyes.

"So that's why you avoided me? Because of the dream?" He asks rather teasingly with a smirk curved upon his lips.

I want to smack him right now. Why would he bring that up if he's just gonna make fun of me?

"Well seeing that dream, that was in fact a memory, would have baffled the shit out of you too. I was confused okay?! It seemed so real and I couldn't even look at you without feeling embarrassed! I just realized that I freaking liked my best friend that I treated like a brother for Christ's sake!! Who wouldn't freak out?!" I snap yelling at him. I pant after my monologue and to my huge surprise Clace barks out into a laughing fit.

The nerve of this guy. I fold my arms across my chest as I glare at him waiting to subside his mini celebration.

"I'm glad you found me entertaining," I mutter sarcastically.

"So, you like me?" He asks once he sobered up. My eyes almost pop out of their socket as the embarrassing heat surreptitiously crawls up my face again. Talk about awkward. How amazing he is at that.
