a snowy day

Snow is falling,

*thud* Thud*Thud *

My heart is beating

*thud* Thud*Thud *

Not so long ago you promised me,

Baby if you weren't going to keep it why'd you make it?

You said you'd come,

And sweep me off my feet.

'Wait for me!' You'd said.

And so I did.

The snow covered the street,

I stood near the curb at first.

Looking at the phone,

As if I was a Stanger.

Few hours passed you never showed,

When it struck 6 I had to go.

I walked home, it was cold,

But nothing compared to your heart of gold.

Dreading the q-tips from the sky,

I stood on the pavement outside my house.

Few minutes passed,

I really thought we'd last.

I looked around but baby,

You weren't there.

It was 11 when I decided,

That I'd wait inside.

I got into the house,

And went to the windows.

There I stood,

Hoping you'd come.

At 12 I went to bed,

But before I slept I said.

'I know you weren't here today,

But I waited for you all day.'

The snow still fell,

The girl lied in bed.

She looked outside,

She never wept.

She stood waiting,

In her dream for that boy.

The boy in the story,

He never showed.

Though he said he'd come,

He never did.

She waited a week,

She waited a month.

She decided he was gone,

A year had passed.

She stood at last,

In her dream aisle.

The man who loved her,

She was marrying.

Though at night,

Her heart still wept.

That summers,

 Day she married him.

Many years passed,

The couple were still together.

But as the days passed,

On a day snowy.

The girl thought of another time,

She thought of another place.

When she was with him,

Her true love.

The boy who had never showed,

The boy who'd left her waiting.

He never did show that day,

He was someplace else.

Probably with another girl,

But who are we to know?

And so now every year,

The girl still waits for a day snowy.

She waits for him,

But he never does come.
