"What...?" Yua stared in surprise at the sight in front of her, confused as to what was going on. She didn't want to assume anything, because obviously it wasn't her place to. Though, Yua couldn't help but to feel a tinge of sadness in her heart while watching them interact. From a distance she could barely make out Tendou saying something like,
"I'm busy" and "leave me alone".
Taking a deep breath, she walked up to Tendou and hugged his arm, looking up to him as if to tell him to play along.
"Tendy! Who's this? Your friend?" She asked in a cute voice. As much as she didn't like doing this, she felt that maybe it would make this girl— who seemed to be making Tendou uncomfortable— leave. The girl sent Yua a glare, then one over at Tendou too.
"Well.. I was fine.. Hmph.. forget it."
The girl left in a huff, leaving behind the two of them there, rightfully confused. As soon as she felt the girl was gone, she pulled her arm away from Tendou's, apologizing.
"I-I'm sorry about that! Y-You.. seemed uncomfortable and-!"
Yua was quickly cut off by the red head putting his hand under her chin, lifting it up so she was looking at him. Giving her a gentle, yet thankful look, he pulled his hand away.
"Thank you. I was just waiting for you when this girl came up to me. I honestly think she was talking to me to try and get to Ushijima but.. it's fine now. So, thank you."
Finding the thanks a little unexpected, she couldn't help but to only now notice that he was in some comfy looking shorts and t-shirt. It made sense though, he was going to be practicing. Yua went to go say something when Tendou spoke up, his hand rubbing the back of his neck as he looked away, his cheeks a bright shade of pink.
"By the way.. you're.. really pretty today.. l-like always..!"
Yua got flustered by his words, glancing away as well. It wasn't long before Tendou went back to his usual, bubbly self though. He grabbed her hand and lead her inside, bringing her up the bleachers where she could watch him practice.
"The school is pretty big so you may not want to wander.. I'll be done in an hour or so. I hope you enjoy watching me."
Tendou sent a wink her way, making sure she knew that he knew, she would be watching.
Tendou ran off towards the other players, who had explained that their team captain would be absent for that practice— though Yua knew the real reason why he was gone. To that thought, she giggled to herself.
She played on her phone for a little while, but when Tendou started to get serious, that was when her eyes became locked on him. Every once in a while he would glance over at her and smile, maybe even wave. This caused his teammates to tease him a bit. The boy, Semi, Yua had met the day before had been talking to Tendou while he practiced his serves, glancing back between Yua and Tendou as he did. She hoped he was saying good things. Time had flew watching Tendou practice, and soon enough it was time to leave. Tendou yelled to her from the court that he was going to be taking a quick shower and that he would be out soon. She nodded to his words and waved at him as he walked off. When he was out of sight, she got up and off the bleachers, heading back towards the front gate. It took Tendou a little longer than expected to regroup with her, but when he did she couldn't help but to get flustered. When he returned to her side, his hair was down. It was still a bit wet from his shower. It seemed he wanted to rush back to her, which was cute. She flashed him a grin, holding out her hand for him to grab onto.
"You ready to go?"
With a nod, he grabbed onto her hand and the two of them began walking off towards the nearest convenience store. As they walked inside and were greeted by the store clerk, Yua pulled her hand away so she could pick out what she wanted to snack on during the movie. She grabbed some pre-cut strawberries and gummy bears, not forgetting to get some chocolate ice cream. When she grabbed some and put it in their basket, Tendou looked at her funny.
"How did you know I liked chocolate ice cream?" He asked, a look of curiosity spread across his face.
"I heard you talking about it with Wakatoshi the other day.. I just assumed since you were pressing so hard about getting some.. that you must've really liked it." She smiled, not forgetting to get them some water to drink. Tendou smiled down at her, finding it adorable that she remembered such a small thing. As they walked up to the counter and Yua went to pay, Tendou went ahead and paid for everything himself.
"My treat." He winked, grabbing the bags out of her hands and heading out the door. As she followed closely behind Tendou, the two walked towards the park where the movie was being held. It was being projected against one of the taller buildings in the town, which would prove to be really cool. As soon as they arrived to the spot, they were given two blankets. One to sit on, and one to use in case they got chilly. Yua held onto those since Tendou was holding all of their snacks. Finally finding a good spot they could agree on, Yua placed down the blanket and took a seat, resting the other blanket over her lap so it wouldn't touch the grass. As Tendou made himself comfortable on the blanket beside her, Yua couldn't help but to glance over at him every once in a while, as he unpacked the snacks. With the sun setting beside him, she couldn't help but to stare at the handsome guy in front of her.
"Wow..." She muttered. Yua hasn't even realized that she spoke until Tendou looked her way, letting out a laugh.
"What, am I that irresistible?" He teased, causing Yua to quickly look away.
"N-No.. I mean.. yes.. but.. I uh..." Yua stumbled over her words, unsure of how to respond. She didn't want to seem like she was being weird or anything. Though, when he replied to her stuttering words with a smile, she felt a lot better. It wasn't before long that the movie had begun and the sun went down. While Yua sat and watched the movie, she couldn't help but to begin to feel cold. Maybe a jacket wasn't a bad idea. She thought. Tendou looked her way and noticed her shivering a bit, he reached behind her to the other side of her head, pushing her towards him so she was now leaning on him. Then, he pulled the blanket over the two of them. He smirked down at her and spoke,
"Let me know if you get too hot. I am pretty good looking, if I do say so myself."
Yua blushed a bit and turned her attention back towards the movie, though she was completely distracted by being that close to him. Yua glanced around at the other people in the park, only to see that most of them had forgotten about the movie and were all having their own kinds of conversations. Seeing that she wasn't looking at the movie, Tendou spoke up.
"Hey, Yua?"
She turned her head back towards him to see that their faces were very close to one another. Maybe it was just her mind feeding her these crazy thoughts, or it was her heart beating at five times it's normal speed but.. his lips looked really soft. Tendou noticed where she was looking and spoke once more, a softer tone in his voice.
"Yua... you look so pretty.. and.. I'm really glad we had this date.. I just.. how do I put this.. can.. can I kiss you?" He asked, catching Yua a bit off guard. As much as it came to her as a bit of a surprise, she couldn't help but to feel that the moment may have been just right. She nodded her head gently and slowly leaned in, him doing the same. Their lips soon connected for a brief, but sweet kiss. Yua's mind was going crazy, and maybe she was enjoying this kiss a little too much but, it felt different. It felt good. When they pulled away, the two of them smiled and got flustered by what had just happened, turning their attention back to their snacks and the movie. Yua could've sworn she heard Tendou whisper something to himself, so she asked.
"Did you say something?" Tendou looked to her with a goofy grin, his eyes being closed while he spoke.
"Can... can we do that again?"
