The Rosewood Forest is a home to many creatures that lived in trees, bushes and sometimes hid in underground burrows.
The forest surrounded a town known as Rosewood. A bridge divided between the forest and the town.
In the night, owls hooting in the distance and the crickets creaking. Little scampering sounds of tiny critters of the forest, finding food or a place to sleep. All the normal sounds of the forest. The sounds of a peaceful night and tranquility, which brings little glowing sprites of nature to dance through the night as their presence affects the health of its environment and makes sure everything is peaceful.
However, it did not last long. The peace abruptly ends with the sound of a crying newborn being carried by a cloaked man running throughout the woods. Running away from a pursuer.
Holding the baby in his arms, carefully avoiding obstacles that nature throws at him. Behind the runaway figure, were the sounds of laughter. Laughter that was not friendly, cackling and sneering through the night of the forest. It felt never ending for the man as he kept running in the darkness, with only the light of the moon to guide him.
A fortunate turn of events, the exhausted man saw a light up ahead. The lit up town of Rosewood in the distance. If he could get across the bridge, surely he would be safe, the child would be safe.
Suddenly, just at arms length of the bridge, stopped in his tracks as blue flames burst in front of him, almost getting caught in it.
There was something odd about the flames, as this was not ordinary fire. Breath became visible as the temperature around the man became colder. Cold as ice. Surrounded. But the cloaked figure drew out his sword, preparing to fight.
The wind blew hard, causing the leaves to fly around him and making it difficult to see. The laughter grew louder as it approached the cloaked man. The baby bundled in one arm continues to cry from fear. Standing his ground waiting for any sound when a sudden light flashed before him.
Swords clash into one another.
A battle to survive or perish. even if there was no match between a human and two spiritual beings.
The two spirits appeared from the shadows of the forest, humanoid with many shades of blue, their sclera were blue as ice that glowed in the night and their smiles were unnervingly wide, sending shivers to anyone who looked upon them. Skin white as snow. One had dark blue hair while the other had turquoise green hair. They wore matching outfits as their attire was a long dress that reached several inches away from their ankles, a poncho-like cape that was embroidered with designs including a heart in the middle, over it was armor shoulder pads that point up and connect to their necks. And last but not least, they wore big chapeaux-like hats with a veil in the back that traveled down to the waist.
The slashing swords draw light reflecting from the moon. It shines brightly, yet the atmosphere is anything but bright.
Full of fear and dread, the man still stood his ground. There was no way he would lose the child to these spirits. To fight for someone so precious, someone that is so dear to the heart. To hold on a little bit longer and to find an opportunity to escape.
Unfortunately, the fight did not last long as the human grew tired, the baby crying even louder. Then, a sudden burst of blue flames came towards the cloaked figure. Causing him to lose balance, falling backwards, still clutching onto the baby.
This was it. This was the end. Holding onto the crying newborn as closely as possible.
Strong wind blows through, the freezing air makes his bones shiver.
