"Hi, Mrs. Wong," Y/N quietly cheered. You were wearing a wide smile, to which Mrs. Wong returned a surprised one.
"Y/N!" She didn't open the door farther like she normally would when you arrived to let you in.
You ignored that detail, continuing in your whisper, "Is Lucas home? I came by to surprise him."
Mrs. Wong looked down at the undrunken Starbucks in your hands and her eyebrows lifted.
"Oh! I'm sorry dear." She offered a small, but sad smile. "Yukhei isn't home right now."
Your smile started fading. "Really? Okay."
"He'll be home later for sure, though," she offered.
You nodded your head, but you lost your enthusiasm. "Okay. Thank you, Mrs. Wong."
"I'm sorry," she said as you walked away and she closed the door.
As you walked to your car, you felt your heart beating faster and faster. You ignored his motorcycle in the driveway. You ignored Mrs. Wong's car home. You ignored the unfamiliar car parked by the sidewalk in front of his house. You tried forgetting the fact that his Snapchat location said he was at home—which is why you figured it would be a good time to surprise him.
When you got into your car, you refused to let your tears fall. You felt happy with him. Even though he had been getting a little distant lately, you thought it was best to let him have his space and his own time. He was still kind to you and you didn't want to believe anything was wrong with your relationship.
Yet, you've had the suspicion for a while now, that he had more interest in someone else than you. You didn't want to believe it. Not a week before, not the day before, and not now.
Closing your eyes, and inhaling a breath, you rested your head gently against the wheel. You exhaled as you leaned back into your chair and grabbed your phone.

His quick responses surprised you. Maybe he doesn't have anyone else over, you hoped. You couldn't help but stare at the front door, however, with an intense gaze.
As the time ticked by, you started feeling relieved. After checking the time, you decided to wait a few more minutes since it had taken you about fifteen to get to his house and it had only been eight since you texted him.
But just as you decided that, you saw a woman rush towards the unfamiliar car in front of his house from the backyard gates.
His room had a door to the backyard.
