"I don't understand why you didn't want to triple major. A double major is like, nothing."

"I don't understand why you WANTED to triple major." Camilla Sparks shot back at her long time, self proclaimed smart ass of a best friend, Alex Grey, as per usual she was met with a mere roll of the eyes as a response. She kept her eyes on the road ahead of them, her white Sedan speeding down the highway. "I'm more than content with my decision to major in psychology and literature, they're my special fields."

"A triple major just make my eventual application for the FBI look even stronger which should increase my chances of success. I've already explained it one hundred times, it just makes sense to." Alex's voice was nonchalant, borderline blunt but Cami was beyond used to it by now, that was just how he operated, she never took it personally. "You could do so much more with yourself if you wanted to, it's a shame to see you're not capitalising on your full potential."

"You, my dear, are going to be stressed out to the absolute max the entire time we're here." A small sigh slipped past Cami's lips. "You and I, whilst we have our similarities, we also have our differences and I just know doing a triple major wouldn't work out for me. That doesn't mean I'm not capitalising on my potential. One of the most important aspects of university live is the social side and I believe you're going to deprive yourself of it-"

"In your opinion." Alex cut in and now it was Cami's turn to roll her eyes, she hated being interrupted and he knew that, which was why he did it so often. "I'm not here to be a social butterfly anyways, I don't really care to extend my friendship group beyond what it is. I'm here to work hard, not play hard."

"As much as I appreciate the sentiment of you being content with me being your closest and, only friend, I don't think it'd hurt to have a healthy balance between partying and studying. Besides, our definition of partying is far more relaxed than the textbook definition."

"Whilst you're correct to some extent, you should know full well that trying to change my mind is pretty pointless." Alex chuckled and a small smile appeared on Cami's features, it was true. They were both incredibly stubborn and would always engage in wars that neither could win.

A comfortable silence fell over the car as Cami turned a corner, finally revealing the illustrious, vintage collection of buildings that were soon to become their home for the next few years, Lucidus university. It was even bigger than advertised and whilst the friends were impressed, a sinking feeling of fear slowly began to settle in. This was it. "Wow." Alex was the one to break the silence, Cami merely nodded as they pulled into the car-park, whistling impressively.

"Crazy, isn't it?"

Alex nodded, stepping out of the car and taking a moment to fully comprehend that this was happening, their dreams of attending one of the most elite academic institutions in all of America. The two had quite literally sacrificed everything for this, leaving their quaint town in the south of England to move all way to North Carolina. It was almost enough to render Alex emotional, almost. A few minutes later, Cami re-emerged from the back of her car, suitcase in one hand, a cat basket in the other, typical Cami, she made it painstakingly clear that she'd be bringing her cats and after a mixture of her's and Alex's persuasive skills, the two were able to bag a dorm with people who were both okay with and a fan of cats.

"A part of me is glad classes don't begin until tomorrow." Alex noted, going to collect his things from the trunk of her car. Neither of them had bought much, just items of sentimental value and things they liked. Cami was fortunate enough to come from a background of wealth so for the first semester at least, the duo were covered.

"I never thought you'd say that. You've always been eager to dive into classes." Cami chuckled, the two then beginning their adventure to their dorms.

"Well, it's getting late." Alex pointed out. "I know most of my classes are late anyways, I just think we deserve at least one night to relax."

"All depends on our roommates." Cami retorted and Alex nodded. "Although I believe they'll be similar to us."

"I hope so. Now, I think it's just down the hall here." The two turned a corner, scanning for the number 205, grinning once they eventually found it. Alex was the one who knocked on the door, both their hands were too full of retrieve their keys.

An incredibly tall man answered the door, glancing the duo down and then coming to the realization of who they were, he smiled. "Alex and Cami right?"

"Y-yeah, that's us." A small smirk appeared on Alex's face as he registered Cami's sudden drop of confidence. He glanced at the man at the door then back to Cami.

"I'm Shane. We've all been dying to meet you guys, please come in." He stepped to the side and the two shuffled in, a curvy blonde woman turned the corner, grinning once she saw the two. Enthusiastically, she bounced over to them.

"Hello! It's so lovely to meet you both. I'm Penelope, your local tech wiz. Here can I help you?" Before either of the two could respond, Penelope had taken the boxes out of Cami's hand and beckoned for her to follow her. Alex nudged her to go after Penelope and with a confused expression, she did so, taking the cats with her.

"That.. happened awfully fast." Alex noted, now being left alone with Shane who let out a loud laugh.

"That's Pen for you, she's just showing Cami her room I believe. She's full of life that girl, sometimes I wish I had her enthusiasm. Here I'll show you yours."

Shane led Alex down the same hall Cami and Penelope had gone down moments ago, the two walked in comfortable silence until they reached Alex's room. "Is it just us four?" He inquired, he'd noticed more than four rooms but there didn't seem to be anyone else occupying the apartment.

"There's Spencer and Ryan. Ryan's currently out getting food in for us all tonight because I might have eaten it all." He chuckled again, standing in the door frame, watching Alex already begin to organize his belongings.

"Hmm, seems fair. But what's tonight?" He inquired, focus perfectly divided between his things and Shane, of course he wasn't the most social of people but he didn't want to be rude.

"The annual roommate welcoming party!" He boomed with a whoop and Alex chuckled to himself, this was certainly a male Cami.

"For god sake Shane how many times do I have to tell you it's irresponsible to throw such an event whenever we get new roommates this is why they never last."

Alex's attention was caught by the sound of a new voice interrupting their conversation, almost storming into his room with a stern expression on his face.

"Woah Spencer buddy calm down. I know you're the local anti fun minister but some of us like to party, just like our new friend Alex here right?!" Shame clapped Spencer's back in a hard but playful manner and Spencer scowled. Alex just stood there.

"Forgive me for being so rude. I just don't like to be interrupted from my work and Shane here tends to be very vocal." Spencer sighed. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Spencer. Spencer Reid." Spencer approached Alex and something inside of Alex just.. froze. It took him a few moments to even register that Spencer had greeted him.

"You're exactly my kinda guy." Alex slipped out and immediately regretted it. Shane chuckled and Spencer.. blushed? "I mean, about the whole interruption thingy." He chuckled as a save and a wave of relief washed over him when Spencer returned the soft gesture.

"A man of culture, I can respect that." He smiled. "I hate to be rude and leave so early but I really must get back to what I was doing. Shane you should probably leave too, give our friend some space." He explained and Shane rolled his eyes. Alex nodded in understanding as the two left, coming to the quick realization that this wasn't going to be as easy as he thought.

"Hey, I'm watching you two."

Alex was snapped out of his thoughts by Shane who popped his head around the door once more and Alex just rolled his eyes as Shane chuckled and headed back into the living room, yelling about "we're definitely having this party."
