A Strange morning

Aleesia groaned as she stretched to turn off her alarm that she had placed on her bedside table, She had taken a quick nap after school so she could be rested when she went to work. She glanced outside the window, it seemed to have become a gloomy day and she sat up. She heard a crinkle under her pillow and softly pulled out her mother's last letter. 

She never quite understood what happened, what she knows is what her father told her and what her mother last said. "It will be okay," a simple phrase yet one she would never forget. She sighed as she held the letter in her hand and got up from her bed to place it on her desk by the window. "Another day.. yay," She said as she then got ready for work.

She got her phone from her bedside table and turned on the screen, a text from her best friend, Jake, 'Get up lazybutt, you can't be late again to work.' She rolled her eyes as she replied, 'It was one time' and finished getting ready. 

A call came from her phone~ Jake.                                                                                                                                 ' Where are you?' She laughed, 'I am on my way, chill.' He had an annoyed when he spoke again, 'okay okay. see you soon.' She ended the call and got her bag and started downstairs. She saw her father, looking down. Today had always been hard for him, the day Alessia's mother left. He tried hiding how he felt but she could see right through him.

"Are you okay?" she said with a soft tone as she hugged him. He hugged back and let go as he said, "Yes, do not worry about your old man so much." She laughed, "If I don't, who will?" He rolled his eyes, "I am the parent here, I am the one who's supposed to worry about you."

She smiled softly, "I know." He replied, "You gotta go, you will be late for work!" She hurried and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "bye dad!". He waved goodbye as she rushed out the door and closed it behind her. She started walking to her car as she noticed the mailbox was open for some reason and there was a letter inside. She quickly took the letter and put in her bag as she got into her car and drove to her work.

A while later at work~

"You have to wake up earlier." 

She rolled her eyes at jake, "If i dont sleep enough, I will be cranky and you do not want me cranky." He backed up with his hands up, "Fine." 

A man spoke behind them, "This isn't social hour, get back to work." Aleesia and jake laughed as they went back to work. She walked up to a table with one man and asked what he wanted to drink. "Water." she wrote it down and walked away to get his drink. Jake walked to her and whispered, "He seems like a weird guy. he is checking you out."

She laughs and speaks, "Don't be so paranoid, there are always guys like that here." He walked away grumbling and she got the water and placed it on the table in front of the man. "Here is your water. what do you want to eat?" He spoke in a raspy voice, "That is all. Thank you." She nodded and walked away, something in her gut told her to be careful. 

~After work~ 

She sat in her car exhausted and looked in her bag and pulled out the letter she had found in her mailbox and saw that there wasn't a return address, just a full name. She gasped as she read the name..

'Kaylee Kane'

"Mom?"

At first I was going to write 5 chapters before I published the chapter but I feel good about the stories I am writing. (Yes i have another book I am writing but that One I will wait till I have 5 chapters done as it is a remake of one i had written before)
