My eyes flickered to the window under the thick rims of my glasses, only to see the sky darkening and a heavy rainfall. Some people may say that it would take a miracle for the weather to miraculously change to fit the scene, though I'm not some people am I?

"Then I suppose it will have to wait until tomorrow... though I am burning this book, Newton! I am no longer studying the prophecies of my great great great great great grandmother. It's time for me to write my own destiny, with you"

I heard a mumble back from the living room. I never planned on falling in love, especially not in mere hours. I always thought that it would come down to the prophecies. But here I stand, with a boyfriend meters away, planing on destroying a new set of prophecies.

"Anathema?"

"Coming" I carefully placed the book back in its wooden chest before running off to him, my heels tapping against the wooden floor beneath me.

It took me a moment to spot him, curled up into the corner of my armchair; which didn't match my other one, or the sofa, or any of my furniture. "Hey, hey, Newton" I said softly. "Are you there?"

"I don't... I don't like storms. You said that there wouldn't... that there wouldn't be anymore after the last one" He pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose and I could tell that he was trying to act brave in front of me.

"There, there, dear" I picked him up with ease, a simple spell that was passed down from my mother, and moved him to the more spacious sofa as he refused to let go. "I've got you, okay?"

"Okay" He gave me a goofy grin and nuzzled closer.

So there we lay, his head moving slightly to the rising and drooping of my chest as I ran my hair through his messy locks.

As the clocked ticked by, I noticed a light snoring sound, and pulled a teal crochet blanket over the two of us before drifting off myself.

"Urgh" I groaned as my eyes fluttered open, only to spot Newt beside me, curled over a book with a torch in his hand.

No, not a book. The book.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I yelled, causing him to jump and the book to crash down from his lap, scattering papers all over the floor.

"I-I was just... just" He took a deep breath.  "I wanted to make sure you'd never leave"

"Oh, dear, we will always stay together" I cupped his cheek in my hand. "Is... is that a promise?" He asked nervously.

"I promise"
