MACKIN' ON MACK

•••A New Beginning•••

When Mackenzie Bridges arrived at her new school in the Obx, it wasn't at all what she'd hoped it'd be.

But then she met two boys by the names of John B and JJ in the 4th grade when she was being picked on at recess. There were three boys who would seemingly be a never ending issue that took it upon themselves to antagonize Mack for not having a dad, being short, having a shitty mom, living in The Cut, basically anything about Mackenzie they turned into an insult.

That is until John B and JJ saw what they were doing to her and showed her that not everyone was against her and they had her back.

So you could say they've been inseparable ever since.

The constant bullying came to a stop for a while ever since Mackenzie started hanging out with John B and JJ more and more.

The blonde headed girl soon learned the way of the land in the Obx.

Pogues- Working class, the ones who have 2 jobs to pay the bills, live in "The Cut," they're looked over, nobody cared what they do as long as they stayed out of the rich's way. John B, JJ, and Mackenzie were all classified as Pogues as they checked off all the requirements.

Kooks- Mackenzie was told that the trio of bullies she encountered the first few months of the school year were Rafe, Topper, and Kelce. They were rich, lived in Figure Eight. Aka they are Kooks, the kinds of people who've got a fancy boat, fancy cars, 2 houses. The people the Pogues work for essentially.

Well the infamous bullying trio found a loophole in John B and JJ's plan to protect the little Bridges girl.

Because one day Rafe and his buddies showed up at Mackenzie's house just to pick on her.

Now why would they go through all that trouble to willingly step away from their luxury Kook life to come and torment the little Pogue?

Well, have you ever heard someone say, "they are only teasing you because they like you!" Apparently that was what was happening here. You see, Topper had a little crush on Mackenzie ever since her first day. Then that secret got out on the monkey bars when Rafe, Topper, and Kelce were playing truth or dare.

So the day when Mackenzie first got picked on, that was all Rafe's idea. He told Topper that if he helped him and Kelce pick on Mack that they could get her to like him.

But obviously Mack didn't get the memo.

So everyday after school Mackenzie would be outside making something to play with out of things she found laying around, or cleaning up her mother's drunken mess of a house just in case John B and JJ wanted to hang out. Just to have Topper, Rafe, and Kelce come knocking at her door to make her another mess to clean up.

An emotional mess.

But there was a day were she had had enough. Mack was fed up with being pushed around all the time in her own home.

So she decided to make a trap for when the three Kooks came over for her daily humiliation. But this time her goal was changed from trying not to cry to reversing the roles so she would be the one to be laughing in the end, not the one crying.

To put the plan into action Mack took an old rope and net from the shed out back and flung one end over a big sturdy branch that was attached to a large oak tree in her front yard.

It was the only thing that she liked about the shack she lived in that not even her mom could call home. Because it had so many possibilities in the blonde's optimistic eyes.

After laying down the net, tying the rope to two opposite corners and covering it up with leaves, Mackenzie was finally satisfied with her work.

So all there was left to do was hold the free end of the rope and wait behind the tree for the trio to arrive.

Mackenzie only had to sit there for about 15 minutes before she heard footsteps comin' her way.

Little did she know, the boys decided to let Sarah Cameron tag along with them. So when the little Bridges girl heard the crunching of leaves she went with her first instinct and start pullin' on that rope.

"AAAHHHH! RAFE! When you told me I could come along on your "little adventure" with you and your friends, getting stuck in a tree was NOT what I had in mind!"

As soon as the little Pogue heard the scream she knew the kid on the other end of her rope contraption was not one of the bullies she intended on trapping that day.

"Well look 'e' there, I caught me a Sarah Cameron!"

Mackenzie laughed as she gave up her hiding spot behind the tree, still having a firm grip on the rope that was holding the Cameron girl up.

That's when Rafe, Topper, and Kelce also came out of their huddled positions behind the bushes to see what they had just gotten themselves into.

"Hey Bridges! Put my sister down right now or I'll-"

Rafe was interrupted by JJ and John B running to Mack's side.

Oh thank the lord...
