i was icarus and you burned like the sun.you liked how i daydreamed with arrogance,
i loved how you set the world on fire.when i fell for you i lost all control.
you were too bright,
and i got just close enough to get burnt.when i reached up to you
you were already gone,
my hands grasping nothing but the idea of you.when i finally crashed i laughed on the way down
smiling as i sank and drowned.
it was everything i wanted,
getting caught up in your orbit,
and becoming infatuated with your lies.but, even you knew the weight of destruction would treat me better.
in the end i knew it had to be a punishment for loving to someone too scalding to touch.
