Heerii Roufin was originally born in The Shadow Lands. However, she became to be in the realm of the humans of earth. For in The Shadow Lands it is necessary that exactly half of the newborns to be placed on earth and half of them to stay in The Shadow Lands. No one really knew why this was but no one ever questioned it. No one questioned it because it was a decree that King Satan gave himself and no one would dare ever question his royal highness. So everyone assumed that this was so the demons wouldn’t torment the humans too much, after all would you want to make the world where your children are more miserable.
(There really isn’t that much to this chapter, its very straight forward and to the point in the Shadow Lands)
When a demon child is placed on earth, they appear in the womb of an already pregnant woman. Thus, two babies come out and they are called fraternal twins. The demon one is usually the second baby to come out because they are the second one to be created and it is only fair.
As the earth demons grow up, they are depressed and feel lonely. They need companionship desperately, but always feel like an outsider and that they do not belong. Some of them are lucky enough to find a group that puts up with their oddness and accepts them. But there is no escaping the pain they must feel in adolescence. Some of them get it worse then others. Some find friends to pull them through.
Also, most demons don’t even know that they are demons. The earth ones almost never find out. They are not meant to. But earth demons have the power to see demons when they come to earth, which they do occasionally. And if they do they usually start freaking out because come on it’s a demon, they are pretty scary, and then other humans label them as crazy because they are claming to be seeing demons. However, the ones who keep their cool are welcomed back to the Shadow Lands… for just a day. They want to keep everything the same so they send the earth demon back to earth “where they belong” with out giving the demon a choice. Pretty mean if you ask me, but that is how Heerii’s story begins.
It was the beginning of Heerii’s freshman year of high school on earth. Heerii had survived the adolescence epidemic and had made it to teenage years. She has always been fascinated by the supernatural and anything that is related to the unknown, and since she went to a jock school she was pretty much cased aside as a weirdo. No one really liked Heerii; they all thought she was too weird. She didn’t look like them; all of the other girls had blond hair, Heerii had blue and pink hair; the other girls had big blue eyes, Heerii had blood red ones; all of the other girls wore pink crop tops and short skirts (the school didn’t enforce the dress code at all, most say its because the principal was a creep), Heerii wore long black dresses, all the other girls wanted to go out and party with boys, Heerii would rather stay at home and read a book.
The mane reason why none of the other girls wanted to be around Heerii was because they where intimidated by her beauty. None of the other girls would ever admit it but Heerii was more beautiful then any of them. She had a small petite nose, skin as pale as the moon, and full lips as red as a rose. She never wore make up but the dark out lining around her eyes and her rosy cheeks and her flawless face mad her look other wise. Its not like the other girls weren’t pretty, they certainly where more busty then Heerii and had more of a booty, but they just couldn’t compare to Heerii’s natural beauty.
Heerii’s life went on the same, staying locked up in her room reading a book away from her host family, while the other kids her age where out drinking and partying and having sex. Her parents at first thought something was wrong with their daughter because she was so different, but after they found out what the other kids where doing they thought Heerii was the only sane one in this town.
However one day a couple of the other girls from Heerii’s school asked her to go with them after school to go get some pizza. Heerii at first wanted to reject the offer because she preferred to stay away from any social situation, but then she thought that maybe the girls where finally coming to their senses and wanted her help to bring them to the side of all things sane, so she accepted.
At the pizza parlor Heerii immediately thought that things where off. The girls seemed tense and almost nervous. She wanted to leave but the girls made her stay whenever she tried to escape. Things where getting very suspicious when suddenly a bucket of water splashed right over her head. Heerii pulled the bucket off her head and turned around to see the head cheerleader and her entourage laughing hysterically. “Ha! Now we’ll all see your make up smeared! Who will be the beautiful one now!” the head cheerleader said to Heerii. “What the fuck! I don’t where any make up you stupid bitch.” Heerii replied. “Whatever, you still look stupid lol.” The cheerleader said. Heerii gave them an exasperated look and left the pizza parlor sopping wet from head to foot, and even though it was a cold January afternoon, Heerii started to make the walk home.
On the way another kid, Shiri, from her school stopped her another block over and pulled her in an ally way. Shiri was the captain of the football team until he was expelled for groping a girl at the homecoming dance. His mom now home schools him now. It goes with out saying that this guy is a complete asshole and a total creep. “Hey baby, why are you all wet,” Shiri said. “Leave me alone,” Heerii replied. “What, I’m just concerned about a babe like you getting a cold. I can warm you up if you like,” Shiri said with a sly grin and a eyebrow wiggle. “Ew, your disgusting,” Heerii said, “I’m not interested in anything you have to offer.” “Come on babe don’t be like that,” he said as he put his hand on Heerii’s waist. Heerii attempted to shake him off but Shiri held his grip, and pushed her against a wall.
“Listen here, your gonna cooperate and not scream or your gonna regret it,” Shiri whispered into Heerii’s face. Heerii wasn’t sure what he meant but he was holding her shoulder against the wall very hard and he was scaring her. It all became clear what was happening when Shiri started to reach for her breasts. Her eyes widened. She had to do something. She couldn’t just sit there and let this happen. She pulled back her knee and with all of her strength, she kneed him in the balls. Shiri let go immediately and screamed a very very high pitched screech as Heerii ran away.
She ran and ran and did not stop running until she could not run any further. Heerii looked around an realized that she didn’t know where she was. She was so focused on getting away from that creep that she got herself hopelessly lost. It was getting dark and she didn’t know what to do. She tried to start to find her way home and wound up in a dead end. It was very dark by now. “Now what,” Heerii said aloud to herself as she turned to walk away.
Suddenly she heard a crash behind her. “Who’s there!” Heerii exclaimed. There was a whooshing sound behind her and a gust of wind. She turned around and thought she saw movement. She shined the flash light that she keeps on her key chain and came face to face with a boy around her age. This boy was taller than Heerii by a couple of inches and had a round head. His hair was short, almost like a buzz cut but a little longer. Both his hair was a deep chestnut color, and his eyes a blood red, like just like Heerii’s. However the most perplexing thing about this boy was the fact that he had big purple wings on his back.
“Who are you? Why are there wings on your back?” exclaimed Heerii.
“Alright just calm dow- wait you can see my wings?” the boy replied
“Should I not me able to?” Heerii asked
“Well if you where a normal human that’d be a no, but I’m gonna guess that your not normal.”
“You sound like everyone form my high school.”
“Hey where’s the fun in being normal. If you ask me you got lucky. Anyway, you’re probably very weirded by this so before you go crazy just let me explain myself. My name is Kurisu. I am a demon.
