Emirii also known as Mirii to her friends was born in The Land of Light. There angel children are given choices of what they are to do in life. The choices are as fallowed:
1. Become an educator of future generations
2. Become a government leader
3. Become a messenger of God
4. Become a musician
5. Become a laborer
6. Become a warrior
In angel society, every option is of equal importance and gives the same amount of respect and honor, and to an angel honor is everything. All are equal except for the laborers. They have to work the hardest but they are treated the worst.
When an angel is 10 years old, he or she must choose what path they want to pursue. They can only choose one and they must choose. Failure to do so results in banishment to the Shadow Lands.
After the young angel chooses their path, they are trained for another 10 years. Then in their 20th year, they have to take an examination to see if they are fit to carry out their role in society that they have chosen. It is a pass or fail test, there is no in between. If an angel fails their test, they are left with only two options, become a laborer or become a warrior. Most choose laborer because most warriors do not make it past their 25th-30th years. And when one is brave or foolish or proud enough to choose the warriors, it is always a male.
And so this continues of millennia, until one angel named Emirii An Bakaa is born.
Emirii was special in more ways than one. For starters when Emirii was born a bright light shinned form out of nowhere right after her mother popped that sucker right out of the womb. None of the angels, not even the high priest could explain the mysterious light. But they kept it a secret from most out of fear that is would cause a stir in the balance of their delicate society. But the angels never asked God about this. They would never dare bother the holy one with the problems of mere civilian angels.
Another reason why Emirii was special was because instead of white, like all angels, her wings where pink. Although she never knew the reason for this, Emirii always thought that this was because she believed that her father was a love fairy, even though she never met her father. But that only strengthened her suspicions because a relationship between an angel and a love fairy would be too scandalous for the couple to stay together.
And the last reason why Emirii was special was she was good at more than one thing. The first 5 years of an angel’s schooling is meant to find that angels single skill to help them hone in on what option they should pick to contribute to society in the best way that they can. When Emirii was in school, her teachers discovered that she was good at more than one skill. Emirii was good at music and fighting. This made it all the more difficult for when Emirii had to choose her option on choosing day.
On Emirii’s choosing day, she ends up choosing musician because “it is the proper thing for a young lady to do” or so says her mother and her friends. However, the high priest sees all of the things that make Emirii special as potential for a warrior. The most powerful warrior they have ever seen and the ultimate weapon against the wars against the demons of the Shadow Lands and the witches that torment the humans of earth. The high priest had plans for Emirii and planed to take her fate into his own hands.
10 years passed since Emirii had made her choice of becoming a musician. She has blossomed into the most gorgeous angel in The Land of Light. With long flowing blond hair and sparkling blue eyes and a face as exquisite as a rose, she had the attention of everyone she encountered, especially the men.
Emirii also was a fantastic musician. She was able to play any instrument that she can get her hands on as she was expertly trained for years on, and her voice was as beautiful and mesmerizing as a siren’s. But out of all of the instruments, the guitar was her favorite of all. Everyone was curtain that she would pass her examination and become the best musician in all of the land.
However, when Emirii’s exam day came she did not pass. Emirii had failed her examination. Everyone was shocked at the news and no one more shocked as Emirii. But this was not Emirii’s fault, for the high priest had made this happen and told the angels in charge of the examination that it was God’s will that she would fail. Because the priest knew that if she would fail, she would choose the warriors instead of the laborers.
So as fate would have it Emirii joined the warriors. But her former music teacher Myujishan took pity on his student. He saw how much she loved making music, so he forged a guitar that was disguised as a sword. When Emirii is in battle, she can use it as a sword and when she is in the privacy of her home she used it as its true form as a musical instrument.
Time went on and another year later Emirii, now known as Commander Emirii has risen through the ranks of the military and has earned the respect of her fellow troupes. Being the only female warrior of course there where some doubts about her at first. But after her first battle where she single handedly took out an army of witches she quickly became a legend. She had the power to produce a screech that made demons and witches alike cringe in pain and then flee in terrier. It seems the high priest had gotten what he had wanted. All at the price of running a young girl’s life. For soon after Emirii became a legend amongst the angels, she became known amongst the demons and witches too.
Fate is cruel and unforgiving. After the demons heard about this new warrior they sought to destroy her. And so thinking that Emirii’s mother was Emirii, the demons slaughtered her in font of her. Then Emirii’s beautiful voice turned on her. She let out a screech of such sadness and despair that it drove back the demons and made their ears bleed.
The only thing she had left was her guitar, which she named
Shinseina (which means holy instrument). But even that was found out. Some one saw Emirii using Shinseina as a guitar and told the authorities. Mixing skills was illegal for it would cause disorder. Myujishan was executed and Emirii was banished to earth. Sentenced to fight witches for the rest of her life. Emirii took the form of a 14 year old American girl and found a host family but things would never be the same for her.
