Azula and Ty Lee had been great friends every since they were little, and as much as Azula hated to admit it, she cared about her friend more than anything in the world, but she had no reasonable way of showing it, behind trained by her father,Fire Lord Ozai to neglect feelings or emotions, he had raised her to be a machine,a monster, one whose sole aim was to conquer every opposition, she tended to strike great in most peoples hearts, besides those closer to her, so when if came to showing affection, she just wasn't cut out for it.
Ty Lee on the other hands, was a different story, she was always caring, kind, affectionate, joyful, graceful, anything Azula couldn't be you name it. If anything, she was one person whom Azula was most vulnerable around.
Azula had always liked Ty Lee, but for some reason, one I guess you could say was either pride, fear, or simply being too busy figuring out how she could be future Fire Lord instead of her brother Zuko, she couldn't tell her, most important reason was that she was afraid of what might happen to the both of them.She knew it wouldn't end well.
The Fire Nation was one of two nations at the time that didn't tolerate same gender relationships, although the Earth Kingdom served minor punishment to these queer set of people, the Fire Nation brutally punished who went against the law at the time, started by Fire Lord Sozin, Princess Azula's great grandfather, saying it was against the laws of nature, you were either burned to death our if left to live, would either be scarred for life, or go around for the test of your life with a missing body part, certain body parts for certain crimes, some couldn't bear the shame and fled to other nations, others would kill themselves, it was just sad to watch.
Ty Lee had always loved Azula, but knew nothing would ever come out of if, she had given up a long time ago and the society she lived in made it almost impossible........almost.
