I slid my glasses back up to the top of my nose because they fell down due to my sweating. I furrowed my eyebrows frustrated at myself. I looked across the classroom to see the cause of my frustration.
Ariana Grande.
At this point I've been crushing on her for so long that I think I'm in love with her. Sadly I know she'll never look my way simply because she's her and I'm me.
I felt a nudge at my shoulder and I looked to my side to see my friend Kendall.
"If you keep staring I think she'll catch you" she whispered "and I don't think that would be good for you" she finished and I sadly nodded to myself trying to put all of my attention back to the lecture our teacher was currently giving us.
A few months ago a friend of Ariana's kept noticing my staring and told everyone that I liked her. Of course I denied it but it hurt to see Ariana literally turn the opposite way when she'd see me walking down the hallway.
Thankfully that rumour, well sort of rumour died down and the beautiful brunette wasn't treating me as if I had some virus.
I fucking hate Courtney, I thought as I looked at her flirting with Pete Davidson.
"I don't think I can do this anymore" I said as I sat myself down along with my lunch tray at the table with Kendall, Madison and Troy waiting for me to continue.
"I have to tell Ariana" I finished and they all shared a little laugh.
"Y/n that's social suicide and you know it" Troy noted the obvious "plus she's in with them mean girls I can imagine how horrible she would be in a relationship".
"He has a point" Madison agreed and I groaned.
"How about this then" Kendall clapped her hands "Ariana is obviously hot and you're not".
"Thank you for the confidence boost Kendall" I siad annoyed.
"No don't get me wrong Y/n you're fine as fuck but your clothes are hiding your beauty" Troy hummed in agreement as he was eating his food.
"You need a makeover Y/n and then you can get with Ariana and it will all be thanks to me" Kendall placed her hands on her chest with a smile on her face "I would be the best friend ever".
"Hold it" Madison interjected "makeover for Y/n, I like that idea but her getting with Ariana not so much" Troy hummed again.
"What's wrong with her" Madison's eyebrows shot up shocked at what I just said.
"Did you ever hear what Camila said" I shook my head.
"Y/n she's so toxic" I thought for a moment.
"I wouldn't mind Ariana being possessive over me" Kendall high fived me while Madison and Troy shook their heads.
Kendall squealed when I walked out of the dressing room "I love it" she walked behind me and put her hands on my shoulders as I took myself in.
"Wow" I said and that made Kendall jump a little.
"I swear Y/n if Ariana doesn't fall for this then she is most definitely not worth it".
I stood in the school parking lot the next day nervous as hell to walk in, my hopes are already so high I'm scared to let myself fall down when I don't get the reaction I'm looking for.
"Y/n you look hot now come on, we're gonna be late" Troy said in annoyance at me.
"Look" Kendall grabbed me to look at her "if she shows interest, hell if anyone does. Whatever you do act like you don't care. We all want somebody who doesn't care or show us anything attention, it's fucked up but that's just how it is".
"Wow Y/n" I looked behind Kendall to see one of Ariana's friends Victoria looking shocked, she nudged Courtney who was beside her making her look up at me.
"Jesus Y/n if I had legs like that I'd be showing them off all the time, it's about time you grew up" she said before both of them walked away.
"I don't know if I should be offended or not" I squinted as did Troy before he said.
"I don't know either".
"Here" Kendall ran up to me handing me her gym clothes.
"What" she cut me off by putting her hand over my mouth.
"This is the only class you have without any of us and you're changing your clothes, I will not let you ruin the reputation I have just given you by putting sweats on for gym class and not to mention the last class you have with Ariana today". That's when the realisation that I will be on my own hit me.
"I can't do this" the late bell rang and Kendall pushed me in the direction to the changing rooms.
"You have to" she said before she ran off.
I walked into the gym hall trying my best to pull Kendall's shorts down but they weren't budging. These are more like underwear not shorts, I thought.
I always hated this class since none of my friends are in it and especially since Ariana always looked so good in the schools gym gear that I'm basically wearing as well but she makes it look ten times better.
"Okay we're playing volleyball today" our coach blew his whistle "but I'll be picking the teams" he glared at us and I gulped.
"Team A will have ; Camila, Hailey, Bella and Gigi" I groaned they were the only people in this class that I shared small talk with.
"Team B will have; Pete, Perrie, Zayn, Justin and Lauren" I saw and heard Lauren groan.
I feel your pain Jauregui.
"Last but certainly not least Team C will have" I looked over to only see Ariana's group and I left.
I'm so scared, they're so intimidating.
"Y/n, Ariana, Victoria and Courtney" he smiled at us "team A and B will play and the winners of that game will play team C, now go have fun you know the rules".
I gulped at walked over to the benches that the girls were sitting at.
"Well if it isn't Miss legs" Courtney said, just be cool Y/n.
"I don't know if you're complimenting me or insulting" that made a giggle come from Ariana and I nearly felt my heart drop.
I just made Ariana Grande laugh.
"It's a compliment Y/n" Courtney reassured me.
When it was our turn to play I had gotten more comfortable with the girl's. We're playing against team A, the team with Camila on it and of course the ex of the girl of my dreams.
Courtney and Victoria stood in front of Ariana and I.
"Hey Y/n" I looked over at Ariana kinda shocked that she's not focused on the game.
Act unbothered Y/n, I reminded myself.
"What's up" I asked taking my gaze off of her to look at where the ball was going.
"Well you see, you seem really cool" I cut her off by running for the ball and hitting back over to the other side.
"Good save Y/n/n" Victoria gave me a new nickname and high fived me.
"What were you saying" Kendall would be so proud of me right now.
"Right well I'm having a party this weekend and was wondering if you'd like to come" inside I'm dancing outside I look like I don't give a shit.
"Sounds cool" I hit the ball again.
"Sounds cool as in you'll come or" Ariana asked and I was loving the attention she's giving me.
Who knew what an outfit change could do.
"I'll see if I can" I could see that my sentence took her back a little.
"Oh okay that's great" was the last thing she said before the ball hit her right in the face.
"Ouch" I siad and looked over to see Camila cheering
