The handcuffs were too tight on her wrists, making her hands feel slightly numb. She had mentioned it to the guard earlier but they couldn't do anything about it. Not that they would want to. She was a traitor to her nation, nobody would want to help her out with anything. But it was alright. She didn't expect kindness, she had never given anyone else kindness. Except her sisters. She wondered if they were alright. She hadn't seen them since Neo was...
"Shabina Lenti, please step forward." she heard a voice say, cringing at the use of her mother's last name.
"Please, your honor, just my first name. I am no longer part of that family." she said, stepping forward.
The judge looked at her curiously, then gave a curt nod. "Very well then." He straightened his short stack of papers, and began to read off the top.
"Miss Shabina, you are charged with 19 first-degree murders, treason against Hell, plotting an assassination attempt of King Satan, aiding in stealing the abilities of 19 magically gifted individuals, illegally possessing 19 people, illegal dimensional portal use, and aiding in the escape of your two accomplices. How do you plead?"
She wanted to scream and cry and tell them she didn't want to do any of it, that she wasn't even an adult yet and she had to protect her sisters even though she didn't know where they were. She wanted to tell them she only did those things to protect her sisters from Neo, and that even though he was dead, he was horrible, he deserved much worse than the almost painless death he received. But she didn't. She couldn't explain, she couldn't tell them the truth, because she knew she did everything the judge just said. But they didn't know why. They didn't know about her mother, or Neo, or her sisters. And she knew better than to use her trauma as an excuse to her actions. She knew they wouldn't listen. She knew if she tried to defend herself, she would receive a worse punishment than she was already going to get.
Shabina raised her head and took a deep breath. "Guilty."
The judge said some more things, but she didn't remember any of it. The world was blurry and the only thing she could hear was a distant ringing that just kept getting louder and louder and-
"The court sentences you to life in prison on Dawning Island."
There were gasps in the audience, and Shabina's eyes widened in fear. She had mostly been on Earth for the past few years, but even she had heard the rumors about Dawning Island. She hoped none were true. The moment she had been put in chains, she knew she was fucked. But she never thought Dawning Island was a possibility.
The police led her out of the courtroom to spend one last night in a holding cell. She hoped Dawning Island was no worse than that, but she already knew her hopes were for nothing.
__________
The next morning she boarded the boat in Kalen, a city many miles west from the Fairy Kingdom's capital. The ship was to take her and the other prisoners to the island.
The ship set out to sea, the prisoners praying their lives be taken before they ever reach the death trap known as Dawning Island.

Notes:
So this is an original story about Shabina's time on Dawning Island, a large prison for the universe's worst criminals. This book could be seen as a sequel to Karma, another book I wrote that isn't finished. Read the story description for more info.
Even though English is my first language, I completely suck at it so if things sound unnatural or weird its because i'm a dumbass.
Hope you enjoy the story :)
