The sun was slowly starting to hide behind the clouds as the school day came to an end. On his way out of the building, a young boy was stopped by a bunch of other kids in his age. They were all a lot bigger than him, and easy prevented him from getting out. The boy was no older than seven, but he barely looked his age. He was small and skinny, and the others were looming over him. Pushing him to the ground, laughing at him, and simply teasing him for being so small. There always seemed to be something that others would use to pick on him, whether it was the way he dressed, his eye colour, the way his hair was, or his length. It didn't matter to them, even if it was something as small as having a bit of paint in your face, they would notice it, no doubt about it. This wasn't the first time things like this happened. It was almost like a daily routine at this point. After receiving a bunch of insults and a few hits, the other children finally left the boy as their parents showed up. The small boy sat on the ground for a bit longer, before finally getting up and going home. Of course, home was better than school, but it still wasn't perfect. The first sound he heard when the door opened, was the arguing voices of his parents. Feeling the tears burning his eyes, he ran to his room as quietly as possible and closed the door behind him.
"One day," he told himself, "one day it'll get better, and everything will be perfect."
He laid down on his bed and closed his eyes, dozing off to sleep, and floated away into his land of imagination.
