Season P.O.V

I smiled in the mirror while applying mascara to my long eyelashes. I smiled and bat my eyelashes, admiring my look. I am a very beautiful girl. I love myself completely, not in an obsessive way that makes me inconsiderate or mean towards anyone. I am dark skin with dark brown eyes. I have straight white teeth. My hair is black with tight coils. I oftentimes leave my hair in a giant afro because I like to show it off. I have a slim thick figure and stand at 5'5.

Today is a big day at school. Today is the day I tell Amari King that I had a crush on him before either of us dies at the hand of a demon. Amari is the most handsome boy at my school. He has a twin brother named Omari and they are the most popular and quiet boys ever. They get into any fights or drama and practically run the school because of their rich parents. Their parents own a lot of night clubs, bars, and restaurants.

I smiled after doing the finishing touches on my makeup and walked downstairs to my parents. I smiled and hugged my mom. "Hey sweetie", she said with a giant smile. My mother looked exactly like me, except for the fact her hair was straightened.

"Hey pop", I said walking over to my dad and giving a kiss on his cheek. He smiled while working on his laptop. This was home and my happy family.

"You forgot me", a voice said. I turned to see my little sister, Autumn. She was a year younger than me, 17. I smiled. She wasn't the type for happy greetings. She looked exactly like me, except she had a slim frame. She was very fascinated in the demons that ran rampant on our streets.

I hugged her. "Hi baby sis", I said happily. She rolled her eyes and reluctantly hugged me back.  I let her go and sat at the table beside her. "Anything new today?"

"I've heard the Demon Princes were feasting last night and killed a couple", my sister said. My dad looked up from his laptop. "Their heads were off and their body drained of all blood."

"How do you know that it was the Demon Princes? That isn't something they would do. The state of those bodies should've been more serve", my dad said. My dad was the head Demon hunter. He captured demons and sent them back to the demon realm. He couldn't talk about his work and always carried a cross around his neck that he made us wear. It would ward off low lever demons.

Autumn smiled a little. "I never said the couple was identifiable or that the heads were found. The bodies were left and placed like they were hugging", my sister informed. I felt sick to my stomach. My father still hasn't found the identities of the princes and their father is worst than them.

"Just keep your necklaces on", he said. I stood up. I needed to get away from this. See, my world is severed into two. The demon realm was opened and allowed the demons and the human world to clash. The demons don't look like what they are portrayed in the stories and movies. They are beautiful and can change their form to be pleasing to their victims. They have obscene powers and are ranked by their power. Demons destroy everything their path, yet some humans fall in love with them and find themselves producing half-demons, they are powerful but not stronger than the Royal Family.

My sister stood and followed me to the car. We both got in. I turned on my car and drove towards the school. It was a quiet drive. My sister was busy with her book sketching. I looked over at her. "Who are you drawing?"

"Some people think the Demon Brothers look like this. Those who encounter them and live, which is rare, say this is what they look like. I just really want to be the one who bring them down", she said. I smiled. My sister always wanted to be a Top Level Demon Hunter like my dad and my dad encouraged her. He helped her train. I just want to be a journalist or maybe a scientist who studies the demons and their behavior.

I arrived at the school and got out, locking my car doors in the process. I looked at my school. It was a mixture of demons and humans and you can't tell which is which. I held my keys and took a deep breath. I grabbed my bag and walked towards the school. I was going to finally face my fears.

I spotted Amari with his brother Omari talking. Amari was 6'3 and his brother matched his height. They both had curly afros that hung over their eyes. They both had nose piercings and were brown-skinned and had athletic figures. Their teeth were white and their eyes were hazel. Despite being popular, they only talked to each other and their cousin Keandre, who looked a lot like them.

As I approached them, I overheard their conversation. "Why do people always assume we have something to do with it? We haven't done something like this in months and every time something happens this severe we are called", Omari the more talkative brother said.

"Relax brother, no one knows our-" Amari stopped and looked at me. I raised his brow. Omari looked behind him and snarled at me. His eyes were visibly red this time. Amari held his shoulder. "May I help you?"

I took a deep breath and approached him. "My name is Season", I said with my hand out. He looked at my hand and raised a brow before taking it and smiling.

"Like autumn, winter, spring, and fall", he said. I chuckled and nodded before mumbling a yea. I was really nervous. "This is my brother, Omari. It's nice to meet you Season."

I chuckled. "Um- so, Amari, I was wondering if you would want to hang with me tonight. It's this park movie thing, I would love to go with you." Omari raised a brow. "And Omari of course, if he wants to come."

Amari gave a light chuckle. "Excuse my brother, he isn't used to us being separated. I would love too and he will, as long as you have a date for him." I smiled and agreed.

Turning away calmly, I made sure I was a great distance before running off to my best friend.
