It was nice being a bridesmaid, Morgan thought. She followed Lucy down the aisle, and smiled pleasantly at all the people who’d turned in their seats to look at them. Yes, she thought to herself, I can’t wait for this to be my day.
When Lucy got to the alter, Morgan carefully stepped over her train and got into position behind her, but in front of the other bridesmaids. She grinned excitedly at Jesse, who was standing behind Nate, with the rings in his pocket. He looked adorable, proud and happy to be there. Morgan’s eyes then gazed at Nate, who was staring intensely… but not at Lucy. He was staring intensely at Morgan. And he continued to do so, his eyes flickering to Lucy only when he answered a question the vicar asked. But when the vicar said will you take Lucy F Harrow to be your lawful wedded wife, Nate’s smouldering gaze stayed, solely, on Morgan as he said yes.
