The Train Ride

I was pushing my trolley to Platform 9 3/4, when I saw my best friend waiting for me.

"So you finally decided to show up?" She asked.

"I did actually," I added sarcastically.

"Have you seen Tyler anywhere, he's not here?"

Just about that time Tyler ran up to us.

"Hey guys."

Tyler Anderson: halfblood with both parents mudbloods. Has dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes. Dating Kylie Mason. A Hufflepuff.

"Why are you always late?"

Kylie Mason: halfblood. Mother a muggle, her father a halfblood. Has hazel hair and baby blue eyes. Dating Tyler Anderson. A Ravenclaw.

"You've got to be kidding me."

Max Henson: pureblood. parents pureblood with ties to the Ministry. Has messy black hair and brown eyes. Dating Ruby Dean. A Gryffindor.

"That you're the last? You always are."

Ruby Dean (me): pureblood. Parents pureblood works for the Ministry and a professor. Dating Max Henson. A Slytherin.

"We should get on the train," Kylie added.

We loaded our trunks and headed to find an empty compartment. Once we finally found one, we plopped right in.

"So Tyler what did you do this summer?" I asked trying to make conversation.

"Oh, nothing I had a no magic summer. I couldn't do anything to do with magic, but the Muggle world is so interesting," he replied.

"What about you Rue?" Kylie asked

"Well my family decided to visit a tomb that the Muggle's haven't found yet," I answered.

"Cool," she added.

The Lights of Hogwarts lit up the train.

"Looks like we're here," Kylie started.

We unloaded our trunks, and made our way to Hogwarts.

"Ruby," Kylie called as I was almost to the carriages.

When I turned around, I ran into someone.

"Watch it."

"Well that was rude."

The person glared at me and walked away, not before looking at his sweater. It read a badge that said Prefect.

Ugh. Probably some Ravenclaw who thinks he's better than anyone.

"Ruby," Kylie called again.

I started to walk back to my best friend.

"Who was that?" She asked.

"The Slytherin prefect," I answered.

"Oooh, did you get his name?" She teased.

"No and I don't want to know."

I took my trunk and made my way to the carragies.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to another year at Hogwarts," Professor Dippet started.

"Now before the feast begins I need to speak with my prefects," he added. "The prefects for this year are Simon Patterson and Mary Anne Stewart from Gryffindor, Kylie Mason and Nicolas Henderson from Ravenclaw. Zoella Mason and Jackson Mathis from Hufflepuff, and Ruby Dean and Tom Riddle from Slytherin," he finished.
