Before the time of the Angel, there were three brothers. The brothers each watched over their realms with pride, gifting their mortals when they saw fit. The eldest brother made the realm of light. The second eldest made the realm of earth. The third made the realm of dark. They ruled equally, until one day. The third eldest grew jealous of the first; he had powerful beings of light, named the Divines, that praised him, while the third had creatures of darkness, named Nightmares. He wanted the power of light, and so sent his creatures to invade the realm of angels. Thus starting the war of Realms. The first eldest and his army fought bravely, shutting the darkness back into its realm, and sealing it. He, along with the second eldest, created a power both divine and mortal; the Crimson Angel. They bestowed this power to the First Angel, who watched over the Gate of Asriel to ensure the seal would never be broken. Mellianias passed, and the Crimson Angel was passed down from Mortal to Mortal. The second eldest created a band of guardians for the mortals, named the Watchers. The two brothers eventually retired, leaving the Watchers and the Angel for the mortals. And they lived peacefully so. Years passed, and the seal was broken. The Nightmares escaped, reigning terror over the Mortal realm. Only the Angel, bringer of Light, could stop them. After the war raged on for three years, the Angel finally gathered the power to seal the Nightmares back away, thus bringing about the Era of Peace. But all was not well in the Mortal Realm. The mortals fought amongst each other, killing how they saw fit. The leader of the Watchers, The Father, led several domains with fear, transforming the role of guardians from the Watchers to one of fear. With the Angel retired, and the world at an Era of Peace, who would stop this bloodshed?
