Barry watches as Caitlin walks into the training room and starts taking straps and patches off Jay. Jay watches her the entire time. His eyes follow her as she puts the monitors on the table and walks back to him to ask him some questions. Barry can't hear what she's asking him, but he notices when Caitlin breaks into a light chuckle and holds her smile, looking up at Jay before shaking her head and laughing again. She writes something down and walks into the cortex, Jay smiling and watching her until she leaves the room.

Barry takes a deep breath. "I gotta go check on the fire from last night, let me know if you find anything." He doesn't take his eyes off Jay the entire time before turning to leave.

Barry walks into the third ward near the waterfront, the building that caught fire the night before. He beat all the other cops there, having planned on staying at S.T.A.R. Labs a little longer. He decided to get started examining the scene. After about an hour, Joe walks in with a few of the other detectives.

"You're here early." He calls out to Barry.

"Yeah. Figured I'd get an early start." He says, not turning his attention away from the boat he's currently examining.

"Anything?"

"No. The walls are too porous to pull prints from. I can't even get one off the boat." He sighs. "But," he pulls away from the boat, taking a deep breath to start explaining. "There are gasoline burns everywhere. Water didn't go off. Sprinklers weren't working. This was arson."

"Detective West!" Joe and Barry turn to see a very excited Patty running up to them.

"Officer Spivot." Joe says suspiciously. "Second time in two days. Coincidence?"

"Or kismet. If you believe in that sort of thing." She says jokingly.

"Barry, this is-"

"Oh, we've already met." Patty interrupts. "I, uh, I got here early, and I think I may have found something." She says, motioning for the two boys to follow her. She leads them back into another room and to a severed cable bundle. "This is the point of origin of the fire. I don't know a sand blaster on the market that can make a cut that precise."

Barry looks closer at the cables and nods, agreeing with Patty.

"I think a meta human did this." She hands Barry a small tube. "I already took a sample of what was left on the piping."

"Wow, you should've gone into CSI." Barry says, sounding impressed.

"All the action is out here." Patty says, looking pointedly at Joe. "Right Detective?"

"The answer is still no." Joe says, walking away.

"What was that about?" Barry asks.

"I'm trying to join Detective West's Anti-Meta-Human-Task-Force. Hey, he's like your dad, right? Any advice on cracking his no-code?" She asks.

"Ha! I've been trying to crack that for years. But if you figure something out, let me in on it alright?" He jokes, turning back to the cables as Patty smiles and walks away.

"Sure does. Sure does. Where's your oar? Sure does." Jay is repeating to himself while he focuses on assembling a model of an AT-AT.

"What's going on?" Barry asks when he walks in, looking over at Jay in confusion.

"Jay's been trying to figure out Caitlin's riddle since you left." Cisco explains, sipping on his slushie.
