Unexpected Guest

Chapter 1 New House

Eliza POV

Waking up late was something I do every day except today since it was the first day in my new house and it was hard getting used to the change. I still had a lot of unpacking to do but first I needed my breakfast which was an apple. I got out of bed and walked  into the bathroom to brush my teeth I had finished the bathroom since it was the easiest room. I left and walked into the kitchen I could see boxes stacked up in the corner and a few on the table. 

"Never thought I would have a lot for the kitchen"

I grabbed an apple and took a bite before starting to unpack things it was quite boring today it was raining and the sky was gray as it can be.  I had put everything in one box away and on to the others, I had a lot of kitchen stuff since my mom had bought me a bunch she was worried about me not having everything I need. But I wanted to say no but I couldn't take up the opportunity and say yes. So I did. Now here I am packing everything away. 

*Ring Ring Ring* 

I grabbed my phone off the table and answered it 

"Yes?"

"Hello sweetheart I'm calling to see if you're ok"

"Yeah, I'm fine mom just unpacking things-" 

*Bang!*

I turned around quickly to a loud banging sound coming from the front door "um sweetheart everything ok?" I could still hear my mother on the phone. "Yeah, ma just wait a second" I set the phone down and went straight to the door. I wasn't really in the mood for some neighborhood kids playing ding dong ditch at my door. Opening the door I noticed not a kid but a man sitting on the wet ground looking up at me. 

"Um, you ok sir?"

"Ah yes sorry I slipped on the ground and dropped the mail," I noticed a pile of mail next to him and a huge box on the ground "uh-huh um do you need any help?" I asked. "Nope I am fine you know what they say uh..." I watched as the man grew silent and just shook his head. 

"You know what nevermind but I have to ask are you, Miss. Jenkins?" 

I nodded and he handed me the box that was next to him "I think this is yours I'm sorry if something in there broke I am very clumsy. "Yes I can see that now excuse me I have someone on the phone" I smiled and waved goodbye before walking inside. This must be the gift my mom kept talking about before. I walked into the kitchen and set it on the table. My clothes were now wet and water was now dripping from my clothes hitting the table. "Hey, ma sorry the mailman was at the door" I remembered I had left my mother on call. "Oh alright sweetie just making sure you're ok" I could hear a slight fear in her voice. "yeah anyway mom I think I got the gift you were talking about before" 

"Omg yes!" 

My mothers voice change and she was now happy I could hear the excitement in her voice as she yelled at me in excitement. "Go on Eliza open it" I sighed and put the phone down putting her on speaker. 

"Alright" I wonder what she got me this time...

I open the box to see a blue dress folded firmly in the box "um mom what is this?" I asked "oh this is the gift I was talking about its a cute dress that I got you well actually it use to be mine I was hoping you would wear it one day," she said. "Oh, I see its uh nice..." I put the box aside and continued unpacking. "Well I hope you like it anyway I need to go pick up your father from work you know how his car keeps breaking down" she kissed goodbye before hanging up and I just stared at the dress next to me.

It was light blue like the sky with a cute silver belt and it was soft like a blanket I have to admit this was a pretty cute dress it's just I would never wear something like that. I laughed and continued unpacking I wanted to get as much done today.  

* a Few Hours Later* 

I had finished unpacking everything in the kitchen it was quite nice and tidy just the way I like it and I grabbed my phone and walked back to my room. I had to take a shower before bed it smelled like rain and sweat. Grabbing my towel and clothes I went to the bathroom and took a shower. 

I got out of the shower a few minutes later and put my clothes on I decided to not make dinner and just go to bed. I open the bathroom door to a surprise the light in the front yard was on. And it can only turn on when someone walks passed it. With curiosity, I walked closer to the window and peered out but no one was there. Maybe it's broken I thought. And I closed the curtains and ignored it I'm just way too stressed about moving maybe. and I fell asleep ignoring everything around me.
