When she saw Damon standing nervously by the side looking all innocent, her anger knew no bounds as she thought of him coming back to her life thinking everything was okay. That they were okay.

"What the fuck are you still doing here". "I thought I told you to get out of my apartment before I got back!" Avery spat coldly as she glared at Damon who was nervously standing not knowing how to calm a raging Avery.

He knew she would get mad but not this furious. 'What did you expect' his subconscious mocked.

Trying to look for a way to rectify the situation, Damon decided to try to convince her to the dinner he set up.

"Uh I-I made dinner" He nervously spoke as he rubbed his palms on the side of his pants.

"Who gave you the right to enter my kitchen and use my food stuffs!" Avery seethed calmly, but inside she was anything but calm. She was so mad that she couldn't even stop to think of any other possibilities. "I work for the money I use to buy food unlike you" she sneered.

"No I-I actually went grocery shopping myself. I-I didn't use up what you already bought. I cl..."

"Get out" Avery spat coldly cutting off whatever Damon was trying to say or explain.

"Baby please." Damon's lips produced pleas. His eyes silently begging for her to consider.

"Out. Now!" She screamed and at Tue same time trying to hold back the traitor tears that were willing and threatening to roll down her cheeks.

Damon couldn't refuse now. She was hell bent on getting rid of him.

He sighed deeply, nodding his head in agreement at her order, he grabbed his bag and walked out but not before giving her a longing look not only to her but her apartment.
He wanted everything that has to do with her.

Avery managed to use her shaky hands to wipe the tears that escaped her eyes.
What does she do now. Her walls were gradually crumbling and she didn't know how to stop them from falling. She's only human after all.

She got to her room and the Lots and lots of bags sitting proudly on her bed caught her attention.

What did she expect from him. It was him after all.

The only thing he could do was ogle at Avery's pictures all day and do some work as that was his only saving grace.

He had been like a raging bull ever since he entered his building in the morning and Hus employees knew better than to go near a brooding Damon and as a result, King's Inc has been silent as a grave yard. No one was wiling to risk their precious job that gave a generous pay by pissing off their boss.

The telephone on his large mahogany desk rang making Damon curse at who dared to disturb him despite his warning.
"Didn't you hear what I said earlier! Don't disturb me!" Damon seethed at his secretary.

"S-sir y- yo your father is h-here to see y-you" the nervous voice if his secretary spoke from the other side.

"Never ask for my permission anytime my father comes here, always send him directly to me!" He rubbed his now aching temples.

His door burst open and in came his father and... Marcus.

He groaned. His secretary didn't inform him is idiot was coming too.

"Hello my good ol' best friend" Marcus barged in excitedly.

"Shut up. Why did you come here" Damon almost yelled at an excited Marcus.
What's there to be excited about he thought.

"Jesus. What crawled up your ass and died" Marcus asked seriously this time.

"Hey dad. You didn't tell me you were visiting the company today"

"I didn't come to visit the company because I came to visit you. Why haven't you come home yet because your mother is already going crazy at the house" Richard scolded his son.

"Sorry dad. I was sick and I wasn't able to...

"What! you didn't call me, who now took care of you!" Marcus screeched like a girl making the two men wince.

"I wouldn't have called you in any way even if I was dying"

"That's a lie" Marcus whined stomping his feet like a five year old

"Infact, I had a more capable, More beautiful doctor who took perfect care of me excellently well" Damon said with a smile.

Both men on the other side of the room exchanged puzzled glances with each other.

Richard clenched his teeth thinking the opposite.

"You've forgotten about Avery already?" Marcus asked seriously.

"What! No no never. In fact, Avery was my doctor" Damon said grinning making the smiles of his father and Marcus return.

"Just like that! I wonder how you came back alive." Marcus said surprised and also ecstatic of the thought of his friends together because they basically needed each other.
"She didn't even chase you with a wooden spoon? She didn't bite your head off!" He exclaimed in shock.

"Don't go there. She still hates me and more" Damon said sadly.

"So his did you get her too take care of you" Richard asked.

Damon proceeded to tell them all that happened, and by the time he was done, a solemn look was spotted on his face because he clearly remembered the look on her face when she asked him to get out of her apartment.
The look of disgust, anger if not fury.

"Wow that was something" Marcus blurted.
"And now she basically does not want to see your face" he added.

"Y-yeah. I don't even know what to do anymore" Damon mumbled in regret.

"You know what son" Richard spoke after along silence.

"What" Damon asked dreading what his father was about to say because the man clearly has a serious expression etched on his face.

"Give her time" Richard advised.

Damon didn't want to be away from Avery again. He had already spent a lot of time away from her and he didn't want to waste anymore time.

The only thought on his mind throughout that day was...

For how long...
