Authors POV
Natalie Rodriguez has been doing her internship for a transportation company for a few months. Although she is 16, she still wants to accomplish a career of being a businesswoman in a large company. As she is doing files for her boss, Mr. Styles, out of no where she sees the sexiest man ever.
When he walks away, she expects to not see him again until she takes the files to her boss. In the office, the guy is talking business with Mr. Styles and her eyes wander down to his figure which is very muscular and god-like. Natalie does not that she has been staring too long until her boss yells her name.
She mumbles a sorry and Mr. Styles says, "Natalie this is Mateo, Mateo Santiago, one of my allies that help me manage the company."
Natalies POV
Ughhh even his name is sexy, wait no I need to be professional. I smile and shake hands with Mateo while he looks into my eyes, I feel like I might just melt under his gaze. He smirks and says in a velvety deep voice, "Nice to meet you Natalie, I hope to see more of you throughout the journey of this company." Sexy voice? Check. I blush in reply of his response. I exit the office with my cheeks deeply reddened, why do I feel so flustered around him even though he's so intimidating? I need to stop gushing over him before I get caught slacking. Damn too late, Mr. Tate, my mentor is already giving me the look of disapproval. I give him a nervous look and mouthed sorry then get back to work.
A few hours later...
It's been a quite easy day and it's finally over. I look out of the window in the lobby and notice pouring rain, I huff not wanting to ruin my brother's down time. As I was about to walk home, I see Mateo drive up to where I was standing. He hops out of his car and runs towards me and says, "Do you need a ride? It's pouring and I wouldn't want you to get sick knowing that I could've driven you home." I shake my head and reply, "It's okay, I don't wanna make a hassle, I'll just walk home." He laughs while shaking his head. His dimples stand out and I blush at the cute side of Mateo. "Aren't you a stubborn one. it's alright love, I'd love to drive you home to make sure you get there safely." I follow him into his car, and I tell him my address. As we make our way to my house, there's a comfortable silence. I give him a look and point my head towards the radio and non verbally ask him if I can turn the radio on. He nods and "Nights Like This" plays and I immediately react and start singing along.
Mateo POV
When Natalie started singing my heart fluttered in awe. She is so beautiful and pure; I don't think she'd want to get involved with a person like me. I feel like I should keep my distance but, there's something about her that draws me in. I think she can be the one but I'm not sure because, she can change at any point. I try to push the those thoughts away because she can be the antidote to my emptiness, I need her in my life.
When we arrived to her place, I kind of recognize it. Realization comes to me when Rafael, my bestfreind, opens the door. I'm in a stunned state when our eyes meet. Raf never told me that he had any other family members. Rafael looks at me with a smirk and says, "Mateo? Oh hey, I didn't know you knew you my little sister. How'd you guys meet?" Natalie beams with a wide smile and replies for me, "Raffy, we met at my internship today, he gave me a ride so I didn't have to walk home." She is so cute, even when she doesn't mean to be. He nods and walks away leaving us alone. I turn towards Natalie, "We should keep in contact in case you need anything or anyone to talk to." She nods happily and we exchange phones, I blush when I see her home screen; it's a picture of her in a big sweater and long socks, showing off her smooth skin. I clear my throat and fix my collar then proceed to give her my number. After she does the same we swap phones again and I start to walk towards my car. I come to a stop when I feel arms wrap around my torso. Natalie back hugs me and mumbles 'Thanks for driving me home Mateo'. I smile in pure happiness. As I'm driving home, I feel empty without Natalie's warm body around me. How will I function without her presence? I doubt Raf will let me get close to his sister, but I know why. I'm the most feared gang leader in the world, and Raf is my second in command. I don't wanna bring Natalie into my violent life, I think it's better if I wait to tell her.
