Obsession

I know it's cliche to say he smiled with his eyes, but he did smile with his eyes. The rest of him however, was just covered in a shroud of hatred and anger. His lips quivered, smiling menacingly. His eyes, even though traced with love held resentment. He was not who I thought he was. My sweet Daniel, What happened to you?

"You disobeyed me." His voice shaking. "I told you to stay inside." 

"I'm sorry, please. I'm-" He didn't hear me. Daniel slowly closed his eyes.Now his voice a whisper. "You went out to that bastard. I saw you. I saw you in his arms, I saw you kissing him." I gulped.

"Do you love him? More than me?" I didn't answer.

"This is why I kept you in with me all the time, I disciplined you for your well being. I kept you close, fed you, and now you betray me?"  Daniel continued. "Even though I locked you up, tied you with chains, you went out to him? If you want to be with that fucker William so much, now you can." Daniel screamed, kicking William's lifeless body. 

"I took you in, kept you warm in my basement. You never loved me, you only loved William. What can he give you that I can't? I'm sorry my love, I was jealous. The minute I barged in to the room, I saw you. I saw your eyes. There was no love, there was only fear. The same terrified eyes, when I took you to the basement. The same eyes when I whipped you for being with William."

Daniel shook his head. "It doesn't matter now. You will be with me  now. I'm sorry I hit you in the head, I saw blood pouring out of your skull, but my rage, was justified, wasn't it? You are mine. Mine only. Only for me." He continued to whisper, rocking my lifeless body. I stood there watching, as sirens nearing the house.

My father stepped in, followed by four police officers. He let out a howl. "My baby!! My poor baby! What have you done to my little girl!"He screamed. The police took away Daniel, who was laughing maniacally. 

A police officer came to console my dad. "I'm so sorry sir, but we need a statement. My father spoke in between sobs. "Daniel, he was my daughter's friend. William.. her fiance." He couldn't speak, engulfed in tears.
