penelope "penny" lane was like a walking, talking beatles song. hell, even the untouchable southside serpent sweet pea thought so. although she was quite annoying at times, part of him, deep down, admired her spunk and happiness (and singing skills, but he wasn't going to tell anyone that.)

penny was the one you went to for advice or just some cheering up. so when josie mccoy breaks poor sweet pea's heart, penny is there to pick up the pieces- but as she slowly manages to help the boy get over his summer fling, he starts to wonder if maybe he's been pining over the wrong person this whole time.

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒:
- you can change the description if you want since it's pretty bad lol.
- penny's parents are very religious but they're not home that often, so she has friends over all the time.
- penny is a north sider but often finds herself on the south side, maybe it's because of her attraction to sweet pea.
- this is slow burn, because sweet pea (at first) is still into josie, and penny is dating mitch michaelson.
- sweet pea doesn't like mitch much and i imagine them fighting often.
- mitch is a character i made up, he's not in the show but he's on the bulldogs and is played by young avan jogia*. (you can change the fc if you want.)
- you can choose who else penny is friends with, but she is best friends with betty and kevin, and was friends with midge before she died.
- penny is also friends with ethel, that cannot change.
- i imagine penny and sweet pea getting together at the end, maybe some drama involving mitch and/or josie.
