It was the 4th Quarter we were losing by 2 i looked at the shot clock it was 103 - 101 and i had the ball with 5 seconds left to go i thought shit i dribbled the ball up the court 4 , 3 , 2 i released the ball and a shot that i surely thought would go in this was it the shot to let us win the U 18 county championships against the reigning champions Reading Pioneers , it hit the rim and bounced out of bounds the only chance we had to win, and i blew it i stormed out the court in to the changing rooms and kicked the locker i sat down on the cold wooden bench
Ramel my friend since year 6 sat next to me said " jed, we got this next time bro, we just got to grind and work my nigga and once we get stronger , faster amd smarter we WILL win and will not suffer". I remained silent and got dressed into my Nike tracksuit and went to the parking lot opened my front car door I turned the key amd began to leave ..... it was a long drive home. As soon as i got home i didnt even bother to get in the shower i went in my study room and looked at the best shooting guard prospects i looked at the clock "fuck" i thought to myself im still gonna do it the time 9:15 i took a 15 minute cold ass shower and got dressed into my duffer tracksuit and my black airmax 95's and ran i out my house it was usally a 30 minute drive to the gym i looked at my car (it was a hatchback to be exact) i started jogging to the gym.
